I dug through some of my boxes of designer paper and this one spoke to me.. it's by Echo Park.. It is for sure red.. so that was probably why.. I then knew I just needed an awesome sentiment so went for this Paper Trey Ink stamp and heat embossed it. I then used one of PTI dies and cut this out. There was a little area below the sentiment that was bare so I used the PTI ginko leaves and berries and used Ranger ink I added some twine and called it done.

Happy Holidays - Creative with Stamps #45

Sunday December 1, 2019

Hello and welcome to my blog.. I know it's a very busy time of the year but I sure hope you have time to play along with our challenge (it is a month long and maybe you have a fun stamp set to use) over at Creative with Stamps #45
Our theme is POLAR BEAR

NOTE: CWS Challenges do not have many "Guidelines", but please read and follow the few we do have to be eligible to win.

I am using the Sugar Pea images and sentiment.. I hardly ever mask so this I had to think about just for a minute just to make sure does the bear go down first or the ice.. duh.. I said it was a min.. maybe just 30 seconds.. but I had to think. I love seeing cards where you crafters can create a full scene with masking and all.. But I did it. I colored the images and created the scene with copics. I used my cloud template. and stamped the sentiment once I was done. I went over the ice with Spectrum Noir sparkle brush. When I was looking at my card I though.. oops.. I gave them pants when they were probably just wearing jackets and rest was their fur.. but it is what it is. I still love it.

Challenges:
Time out #149 - celebration
The sisterhood of crafters - trees trees trees
Simon Wednesday - anything goes
Watercooler Wednesday #249 - all about occasions
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas #466 - anything goes / opt. things with wings

Tis the season to be browning - Creative with Stamps #44

Friday November 1, 2019

Hello.. Can you believe it's November already.. November is my birth month so that is always a nice plus and then not. As unfortunately it's another year older and when you're as old as dirt.. it's not that special anymore.. But hay it is another year so that is better than not.. LOL

Our theme this month is TURKEY

This is my card.. I didn't have a turkey stamp so my dear Stampin up stamping friend let me borrow this fun OLD stamp set. The box says Stampin up and its way back when SU did foam stamps.. Do you remember them?? That is old..
I started by using Ranger ink and creating the yellow background then I took My favorite things stencil and the same Ranger ink and inked it up. I used Quick Quote scraps and Lawn Fawn grass dies and created the ground. I stamped and using Mission Gold paint painted the fun turkeys and fussy cut them out. I added them to the card and using Rubber baby buggy bumper stamps added the sentiments. It kinda made me laugh.. browning the turkey.. and oh darn.. one of them says.

Red leaves - oragne leaves - Creative with Stamps #42 Autumn

Sunday September 1, 2019

Hello.. It's September 1st so we have another month long
challenge over at Creative with Stamps #42
Our theme this month is AUTUMN

Note: CWS challenges to not have many "guidelines", but please read and follow the few we do have to be eligible to win.

Digging through my stamps I saw this Technique Tuesday sentiment and thought perfect. So I grabbed my Stampin up stamps and dies and stamped on watercolor paper. I then used my Mission gold watercolor paints and went for the red/orange/yellow and gold leaves.. I then cut them out. I used the leftover paints and took another piece of watercolor paper and created the background and dried. I then took red and black and did the splatters. Dried that then I took Versa mark and wiped it on the edges and dipped into embossing powder and heat embossed. I stamped the sentiment on some Quick quote scraps and heat embossed in the same powder from Simon Says. I used Spellbinder rectangle die to cut it out. Once I was ready to put the card together, I thought the leaves needed a hint of gold so I took Kuretake gold watercolor paint and went over the leaves and dried. You can barely notice it. I then laid out the sentiment and images and put a few leaves right on the background and a few on foam dots. I added a few twine bows to the stems. I am not ready for autumn.. but I guess more ready for it then winter.. lol.
Challenges:
Hand stamped Sentiments #322 - photo
Penny's paper crafty #445 - anything goes
Simon Wednesday - anything goes
Word art Wednesday wk. 402-403 - anything goes
As you like it - favorite way to add sentiment - I love to emboss and frame the sentiment so it fits with the image.

Hello and welcome to June 2019.. I hope you're having a great summer and have some fun vacations coming up.. We will be heading over to my daughters in Montana again later this summer. I love the drive over and fun relaxing time over there.

for my card I used Stamp Simply tulip stamp. (I won two stamp sets of my choice at the beginning of the year. This is one of my choices)
I stamped the flower two times. I colored the image with copics and went over the flower with Wink of Stella.. I used My favorite things stitch die. I ran the blue card stock through an embossing folder. I then used MFT get well die and cut it 4 times and used a scrap from Quick quote and layered them. Added the words to the card and went over the top to with Wink of Stella. I thought of adding sequins.. but thought this could be for a guy and not sure they like sequins. So left them off. So I used my mission gold paints and painted the images and cut out with dies. I then used EP designer paper and created the background. I wanted it for either boy or girl and colorful. Monday April 1, 2019

note: CWS challenges do not have many "guidelines",
but please read and follow the few we do have to be eligible to win.

I wanted to use a Simon says stamp that I got in one of their monthly kits last year.. I stamped the image on water color paper and painted the image and background with Mission Gold water color paints. I dried it with a heat gun and stamped the sentiment and re-stamped the image ... dang it wasn't all the way dry so the bottom leaves and part of the sentiment ran.. Hubby didn't see it till I pointed it out.. but of course I can see it. (I remember doing a x stitch piece many many years ago... and made one mistake.. each time I look at this beautiful piece I still see it..)  back to my card. I cut the piece down a little and added to an piece of blue card stock. I really love the look and was a lot of fun to create.

As you like it - favorite med. and why (paints, I like the blending and way you can create the background and give different depths.)

Happy Holidays - Creative with Stamps Challenge

Tuesday January 15, 2019

It's mid month reminder time at Creative with Stamps..
The theme is Mittens..
Note: CWS Challenges do not have many "Guidelines", but please read and follow the few we do have to be eligible to win.

This is my reminder card.. If you read about my January 1st. card you know I don't have a mitten stamp and so I drew a mitten and cut it out and traced it on Bristol paper and turned it over to create the other hand. I used Zig markes and painted the mittens. I used Simon Says stamps and embossing powder and created the fun texture to the mittens. I stamped the SS sentiment on We R memory keepers scrap and used Stampin up die. I then added this to a piece of scrap paper. I don't know who the background is by. I then used a copic and colored the twine and added this to the mittens.. I don't know about you but when I was growing up this is the way our mittens were. You would put your mittens on and then your winter coat and even if you took your mittens off they were saved by the cord that connected it to the other one.. I know my mom would add a safety pin inside my coat in the collar area and ran the cord through the pin so the mittens wouldn't be lost if I took my coat off.. The pin held them there even though they would have to go all the way through the coat sleeve.. I guess extra care that they wouldn't be lost.    I don't think they do that now.. but honestly don't know..

Challenges:
Artistic inspirations #211 - anything goes/opt. tag your it
Make my Monday #87 - word or sentiment
Pammie's inky pinky #1902 - anything goes

Happy Holidays - Creative with Stamps Challenge

Tuesday January 1, 2019

Happy New Year.. Hope your year is wonderful, creative and blessed..

Welcome to another year at Creative with Stamps and a new month long challenge..
Our theme is Mittens..

Note: CWS challenges do not have many "guidelines", but please read and follow the few we do have to be eligible to win.

This Double Trouble challenge will run from January 7-20th

We are paring up with Double Trouble for this challenge
Challenge #19 - Let the Troubles Begin
THING 1 Trouble Maker wants you to use an e
mbossed or patterned background and use a stamped or digital image to bring in something "Warm and Cozy" for these long cold January Winter days.
THING 2 Double Dare reminds you when you're feeling sad to simply remember "Your favorite things...whiskers on kittens...warm woolen mittens..." and then you won't feel so bad.
If you have included something to keep you warm in the winter you can link up your project HERE to Creative with Stamps and you will receive an additional chance at the Double Trouble Random Draw.

Well would you believe it.. I do not have any mitten stamps.. I know it's a shame.. So I just drew and cut out a mitten template and traced it on some Bristol paper and turned it over and traced it again to get the other hand.. I then used Zig markers and painted the mittens. I used Simon Says stamps and stamped a band and snowflake looking spots and heat embossed them. I stamped the SS sentiment on a piece of SU paper and used a Stampin up die to cut the frame. I added the scrap strip of SU paper onto another piece of dp by We R memory keepers.. I added the sequins and mittens and using a copic I colored a piece of twine and tied two bows and added them to the mittens.. WaLa.. mitten card..
So if you don't have a mitten stamp.. draw one.
