Make my Monday #244 - Happy Birthday

Monday January 27, 2025

Hello and it's almost the end of the month.
Hope the start of the new year was good for you

We have a new challenge over at

Theme: Gnomes

I took the packages from the Simon says stamp set and with Versa Mark I stamped all over the background. I added the butterfly and rose just to fill in the empty areas. I stamped the Jessica Lynn gnome and sentiment and used My favorite things dies. I colored the gnome with copics. I used Ranger ink for the sentiment. I added to the card base and finished with some diamond drills.

Challenges:
As you like it - pearls or gems (I like the extra touch of color and the half pearls give soft bling to a simple card)
My time to craft - 552 - make it male (funny male card, colors and half pearls vs. gems)

Love you - Do-Al (l)Creative #68

 Monday  August 1, 2022

Hello

We have a new challenge over at

Do-Al (l) Creative #68

Our theme this month is another twisted sister

ATC + LOVE

We have a sponsor but don't have their images

Sponsor:
Jacobi

This is my ATC - an Artist Trading Card which measures 2.5X3.5
I used to make these ATC's all the time. My dear friend who has since passed away started an ATC club. We would make them and exchange within our club so everyone got one that was the same. So we'd have a theme and if there were 8 members we made 8 of same ATC.. it was awesome creating such a small piece of art.
For this one I stamped the Great impressions hearts with Stampin up ink. I then went over a few of the hearts with Versa mark brush and the others then all of them with Spectrum Noir sparkle brush. I used a little Quick quote chalk ink and distressed the edges. I backed onto the red designer paper then onto the 2.5x3.5 white card stock. I stamped the Mama Elephant image and using Mission gold watercolors. Then the die and added her with some foam dots.

You are so special to me - Do-Al(l)Creative #57

Wednesday September 1, 2021

Hello

It's another month so another challenge over at

Our theme this month is
SPINNER CARD

I don't recall if I've made a spinner card before. If I have it's been a long time ago. I watched a Jennifer McGuire U-tube on how.. It's actually quite simple.. I wasn't sure what image to use for the spinner part so looking at different images I saw this flower from Spellbinder?  I could make the front and back image so no problem. I stamped two flowers and colored with copics. I fussy cut them out. I added clear Nuvo drops to the centers and set them aside to dry. I took the blue card stock and using Simon Says leaf stamp and Versa Mark ink stamped the front and back of the card with the leaves. I cut the circle for the hanging part. I stamped a smaller shimmery white for the background behind the flower. I used SS sentiment and heat embossed. I turned the smaller fold open and glued down the clear thread and let it dry. Once all was dry I added the flowers with the thread in-between. It's done.

this is the card open and the other side of the flower.

Wow hard to believe we're in the 3rd month of the year.. I hope you all are out of the snow and freezing temps.. We're warming up and getting less precipitation.  Living in the Pacific Northwest we have greenery all the time. Our grass and evergreen trees but I am ready for colorful flowers and trees.

Well on to my blog.. Today we have a Free Friday at Bugaboo.. Check out the design teams creations for this fun image over at Catch the bug.

Here is "Clyde get well"... I colored him with copics and then went over the medical bag and roses with Nuvo glitter pen. I used Quick quote chalk ink and stamped the Dylusions number stamp over the white background. I then used Watermark ink and went over the teal card stock. I cut the image out with a Lil inker stitch die.

Hope your day - Always fun challenge

Monday January 21, 2019

Welcome back to another challenge at Always Fun challenge
Our theme is Wedding or Anniversary

I decided to make an anniversary card..  I seldom go to weddings so thought anniversary was more useful.
For my card I chose another image from Tech. Tuesday. I stamped the image on some pink card stock and colored the flower with copics. I stamped the butterfly on some turquoise card stock and colored with pencils. I love the way it came out. I used the dies to cut out. I took a piece of gray Stampin up card stock and using Versa mark ink and Hero arts script stamp and stamped the background and layered this onto another piece of the pink used for the flowers. I stamped the sentiment that was in the set and using Stampin up ink and stitch oval die cut it out. I added some bling and called it done.

Monday December 3, 2018

Welcome to Day 3 of Tis the season for awkward holiday chaos at Catch the bug
Our theme is Bring on the White Elephant Gifts!

Ideas on the banner below

I made a tag to go with a gift bag. I really wanted this to be masculine. It's for my son Samson. I colored the skates with a brownish look and a soft blue background using copics. I used a sentiment from Paper trey ink. I used twine to tie the tag to the bag. For the bag I used a large Stampin up wheel called So swirly. I used Versa mark and created the design.  You can find the tag in the Bugaboo store

WILD about YOU - Catch the bug Saturday challenge

Saturday September 29, 2018

Welcome back to another Saturday challenge at Catch the bug.
This week we have a RECIPE  for you to follow
USE 1 RIBBON.. 2 IMAGES ..3 BUTTONS

I am using the images from a set called Tall jungle blocks

This is my card. I chose the elephant and giraffe from the Tall jungle block images.
I started with Kraft and a circle stencil and went over the  kraft with Versa mark. You can barely see it the circles.. I then went around the edge with Ranger ink to distress it. I then used copics to color the images. So those are the two images.. Now where to use the ribbon.. well the sentiment from Simon says is about being wild about you.. so that means love. so I made the elephant female and tied a bow in an awesome silver shinny ribbon and added it so it looked like the ribbon was tied around the trunk. I then added 3 cool looking buttons to finish the recipe.  I used Stampin up ink for the sentiment and hearts. I used Versa mark brush in the center of WILD and YOU. then went over that with Spectrum Noir sparkle pen.

Our sponsor is Kinda Cute

I am guest designer so this is my card.
I am using this fun little dude called Game boy playing..  I started by drawing in the floor with my sharpie. I colored the card with copics. I added this to a piece of Stampin up designer paper. I heat embossed the Simon Says image and then using a Versa Mark pen I went over the DUDE so that it came out a little darker than the gray paper it was embossed on.

Brewin' up Birthday Wishes - Day 5

Tuesday May 29, 2018

So looking around my desk I saw this striped paper scrap from Quick Quotes and some gray. I then remembered I had some pre scored light gray cards so I chose those three.. I then went to look at my scraps and found this Pink Fresh designer paper. I stamped the Simon Says coffee cup and then stamped the coffee part on a piece of Kraft and fussy cut it out and the coffee cup. I then went over the coffee piece with Versa mark which made it darker. I adhered this to the coffee cup. I found a piece of Quick Quote scrap red dotted paper so added this under the cup and added a Stampin Up leaf die cut from some scraps. I added some steam with Versa Mark. I then heat embossed the Reverse Confetti sentiment.  Fussy cutting images really makes me appreciate using dies.. But this was quite simple to cut out.. just handle area was a little tricky.
