You make everything Buttah! Catch the bug Free Friday

Friday February 10, 2017

Free Friday at Catch the bug

It's time for a fun image for you to pick up. Head over to the Bugaboo store and get this freeby while it's free..

This image is called Kitchen Chicken... I took a lot of my kitchen stamps from Taylored Expressions and stamped them all over. Then found some small Simon Says stamps to fill in with hearts and flowers. I colored in the images with copics and went over some of the bird with Spectrum Noir to give some glitter touch. I embossed the sentiment also from Taylored Expressions and die cut the measuring spoons to add next to the sentiment. Fun card. Sure is colorful.

Will you be my Valentine? - Aud Sentiments #173

Thursday February 9-20, 2017

It's time for a new challenge at Aud Sentiments #173

This challenge is VALENTINES/LOVE + SENTIMENT

Ok so I am really loving making watercolor backgrounds. I seem to be doing this a lot and love that each comes out so different. Also learning what colors work and what don't, you just end up with a muddy mess. Glad there's two sides to papers.. lol.. I first stamped the sentiment in Lipstick red glitter embossing powder and then used three Ranger inks to create my background. Once it was dry and how I wanted it I noticed the red sentiment did not show very well. So thanks to the MISTI I re-stamped in black and had a little of the glitter show through. I have been waiting to use my crazy dogs from Tim Holtz and thought this would work.  The little bones are like chocolate offerings.. with dog's not being able to eat chocolate this is their offering.. LOL. I added some Simon Says hearts with Spectrum Noir on them and a few drops of Nivo in a couple corners.

With all my heart - Stampavie and More #280

Wednesday February 8, 2017

I have joined another Design Team.. Oh I am so glad I am retired.. (This is #5 teams that I am on and then Monika and I will be starting up a once a month challenge between just her and me.. But that aside.. Let me get to the new team I am on)..

It's Stampavie and More.. They're in Norway.. It's a stamp design team so make sure you stamp something on your card and follow the theme.

We have new challenges every two weeks..
HEARTS / LOVE

This is my card. I used different heart stamps. The larger one is Magenta, the other hearts are from different Simon Say stamp sets. I stamped them on Strathmore Bristol paper and embossed with glitter white embossing powder. I then took different Ranger inks and blended them over the hearts. I wiped down the card to clean off the ink that got on the hearts. I then used some vellum and die cut the chain of hearts from Tech. Tuesday. When they were added they did not stand out so I took some liquid pearl and went over the hearts and added dots to the die cut My Favorite Thing die. I then cut out the sentiment out of some silver paper and layered it four times and adhered it to the card. I added a piece of black to help pop the colors.

Hope you're feeling Frisky soon - Catch the bug New Release

Tuesday February 7, 2017

Welcome to Catch the bug New Release..
Kidlet vet..  Fun cute image perfect card for that special vet in your life or as a get well card as I made for a friend who is sick..

You can find the New Release in the Bugaboo store and lot's of other awesome images.

I did some hefty craft room cleaning over the weekend.. I have a large craft-room and two big walk in closets so lots of room for crap.. plus under my craft table which is 4x8 foot I have 4 cabinets so more room for stuff and each short end of the table there are shelves.. Well I filled our recycle bins, burn containers, garbage bins and give away/donate piles. My room is for sure lighter. I can actually see things and feel good about what I got rid of.  So that brings me to this card. I found a box of papers I did from a Gelli plate I made quite awhile ago.. When I made the papers I really wasn't that thrilled about them.. funny how now that I have unearthed the box I LOVE them.. I cut them down to 4 1/4 X 5 1/2  and smaller and they are on top of my craft table in a fun container I also found. So they are in sight all the time.. I plan to use them more and more and might have to make more and hide for a year or more.. LOL
I chose one of the fun prints. To the left  I used bubble wrap and it gave the awesome circle design. The black to the right is made using hot glue on a piece of cardboard. It looks like they are layered but no it's one piece of paper. When I stamped on the gelli plate the cardboard hot glue had different shapes so it looks like it's layered. Weird huh.
I didn't want to lose too much of the background so I fussy cut out the Bugaboo image. Kidlet vet. I thought this would be a fun card for that special vet or for someone who is sick.  That is what I plan to do with my card.. The sentiment is from Your next stamp and went perfect with the Bugaboo image. I used a Stampin up punch and added some Nuvo drops and colored the image with Copics and added a little white gel pen.

it is definitely time for a vacation - Catch the bug Free Friday

February 3, 2017

It's February.. Hope all are doing great in the new year and you're having fun crafting or vacationing. I just made a card that would be great for that person going on a vacation or wants to.. Using the Free Friday image..

Catch the bug Free Friday  .. You can see how the design team used the image and you can find the images over at the Bugaboo Store

This is the card. I used Ranger inks and just painted the inks on some Bristol paper. I used three colors of blue and I first squished the ink pad on my craft sheet and then spritzed with water. Ran my brush through it to get some color and dropped it on the paper and moved it around and repeated till I got the effect I wanted. I did the same with the image using a lighter blue. Once done I used a white pen and did it seems like thousands and thousands of dots to represent snow.. I  colored the Winter Bird with copics and cut it out of Simon Says stitched circle die. I added G-rated sentiment and punched with my Stampin up punch. I added some bakers twine and a Stampin up brad.  I thought with Christmas gone and it's still kinda winter and so many ski or go on ski vacations or just because you want to cheer someone up this would be perfect..

Mystery card at Klompen Stampers

Thursday February 2, 2017

Monday Jan. 30th I took part in a Facebook Mystery card with

Jackie Bolhuis had a fun half hour card making where it was a mystery and it was all done at your own home and on facebook.  you could be in your grub cloths and not comb your hair (which is part of what I looked like LOL). She is on the east coast so I was 3 hours ahead of her but it all worked out great time wise and it's only half of an hour.

We are asked to pick a stamp set (I chose "Know what I love?") and if it did not have a sentiment in it we could chose a sentiment. Pick your card base (I used elegant eggplant) and either Whisper white or Very vanilla to stamp your image on. I chose whisper white. (I don't know if you had to use Stampin up products but she is a Stampin up demonstrator and my products were all Stampin Up - as my best friend Karen is a Stampin up demonstrator so I have a bunch of their products) We were given 7 clues and they were spaced apart so you did not know what the out come was till you got to the end. We could chose a ribbon or twine. (I used elegant eggplant ribbon) and there was to be a banner strip but it just didn't work so I chose Stampin up stitched circle.

I will tell you it was fun but boy next time I will not chose a two or three stamp technique set and will figure a different sentiment set.. The YOU really does not belong at the top it should of been at the bottom lower left and the one at the lower left should of been the banner one.. But it is what it is and I do like it..
