Catch the bug New Release colored image I chose not to use the colored image. The image is Monster rose which has been in the store. But Jodie who draws these cute images has had requests for colored images so she re-released the image colored.. Head over to Catch the bug and check it out.

 

 

This is my card using the image MONSTER ROSE that I COLORED.. Jodie's new release is colored purple.. I know there are those who like pre colored images and I think it's awesome if you are traveling or snow bird and don't want to bring all of your coloring supplies but still want to craft or vacationing somewhere where you cant take those supplies.. I know if I had to bring my craft stash  I'd need twice as many suitcases.. heck I'd almost go naked if I had to choose craft supplies vs. cloths.. Key word is almost and that will never happen.. ...and believe me you'd want to see my colored projects not a naked body...   I used two dies, stampin up and spellbinder, and su punch, the papers are from basic gray.. I really like the sentiment but haven't been able to use it much because it takes certain images to carry it off.  Oh and the I love you is an old D.O.T.S stamp..

Welcome to our first Free Friday for 2015 at Catch the bug

 

This new image for free is called AKV Super Hero

 

 

I had to use this background paper that I got from a dear blog crafting friend Monika Reeck who lives in Germany and from Indonesia.. The paper is a batik from Indonesia.. It's so thin but so colorful. I love it.   I know the super hero looks like he's coming from a fire.. or active explosive background and so that is another reason I thought he looked like he needed this background paper.. .. I used a star die from MFT and used my wink of stella pen... OH BY THE WAY if you have a wink of stella pen and it's dried up... DO NOT THROW IT AWAY... unscrew the water part from the brush part and take off that little cap area and fill it with water.. then replace all back as it was.. and shake it up.. OH MY you get so much more usage... Just look at the glitter on the stars compared to the one with just the  U R my star..  I saw Jennifer McGuire talk about it on one of her videos.. so glad I heard about it as mine was drying out..   I hope you like my card and grab the free image at Catch the bug... also THANK YOU MONIKA!!  : )  I hope you like what I did. hugs

Catch the bug / Oldie but goodie - Thinking of you

Welcome to Catch the bug and Thursday and that means it's Oldie But Goodie day and I am using Snail Mail  I love his look. So cute. I know snail mail is pretty much a thing of the past.. I remember getting letters from my grandmother and writing back to her. Of course those were many years ago. I wish those times were back. Texting and emails are so in. I am guilty of it to. I will have fun sending this card out though. Wont the recipient be surprised.

Welcome to Catch the bug / Humor Wednesday and on 1-8-2015 is Bubble bath day

 

I am using the image Scarlette bubble bath for my image. I had the stripes on the top and the hearts on the bottom but when I went to put the image on I had it completely upside down.. Did not realize it till I want to put it aside.. So the hearts dp is upside down but they are so abstract that it's not noticeable unless I told ya... right? Anyhow I think I like it better with the stripes on the bottom half anyhow so a happy mistake. Needless to say I needed to cut the back off of the card and layer it onto another card base.. oh well.

This is my card using The Paper Shelter image Capture the moment...  I thought with her being on a vacation of sorts that the brick wall behind her gave an awesome look, then the dies smile / click went along perfect for the image and the sentiment as also a good match / plus I just got recently from the stamp/die club they offer. The dies and sentiment are by Technique Tuesday..  I colored her with copics and the base is Kraft but I used ranger distress ink to color the edges.  I hope you have a card that is ATG's and enter it on the Inspiration Destination blog.

Welcome to the first New Release at Catch the bug for 2015

We have this darling called Big Heart Bear..

 

 

This is the card I made using the new image.. I thought with the heart and sentiment I chose to use that it went well and I wanted to say away from the reds so used the purples and graduated the colors on the heart.. I used very dark purple scraps of paper to die cut the music notes.. they look black but they are not same with the little heart by the sentiment.. I think adding glossy accents over them caused them to look a lot darker. I really wanted a brighter, happier, spring looking card.  I hope you enjoy and look for more awesome images from Catch the bug/Bugaboo

Welcome to a month long challenge from Fitztown - we have changed our challenges to go monthly. We have a couple of teams and first team will introduce the challenge and mid month the other team will remind you and show their lovely works of art to tempt you to play along. We will have a challenge starting the 5th of each month and ALWAYS - ANTHING GOES WITH A TWIST- each month will have a different twist. January's is PATTERN PAPER

 

This is the card I made, I think that the bears are to be Panda bears but I decided to make them brown bears.. they are my bears so I can make them any color I want right...? .. I was confused enough how to color brown little alone panda black and white.  This image is called Wild 2 and can be found there at the link.  I like the textured looking paper I used it's a pad I got recently and I had some corrugated paper I just pealed off the hard base and put it under the image added some flowers and leaves and I think this makes for a nice manly card maybe for a father with a couple of kids.. nice fathers day card. Who knows.  Any how your main thing is to play along and use pattern paper. How simple is that..
