Gee can you believe the end of March is almost here. Where does the time go.

 

We have a new sketch at Unscripted sketches #250  Just have fun and make your awesome project and link it to the above site.

 

This is he card I made using the above sketch. I thought it screamed butterflies and a flower.
I used my score board to give some score lines around the card base then added some butterflies, half pearls and this awesome flower from MFT. it's the camellia die and I love it. You cut two each of the petals and then one of the twirly flower center and it gives you this awesome flower. I have done white which is stricken and now decided on this awesome purple. for the butterflies I used my oil crayons and scribbled a bunch of colors on the card stock and cut out the butterflies from the SU die. Love it and fun card. The Thanks is from SS.  Hope this inspires you to play along at Unscripted Sketches.

This weeks challenge #303 at Paper Pretties is PAPER PIERCING  I had to read it twice to make sure I did not read piecing vs. piercing.. LOL... that "R" makes a difference..so remember it's holes in the paper. I did holes around the square, and a little decorative in the opposite corners although the lollipop flower covers some of the piercing. The brown triangle piece has piercing on it also as does the flower and yellow piece although it's hard to see. OH well. I used the image Message Puppy  I tell you this little dog looks like our Ginger who we lost in October 2013 from old age. I really had mixed feeling making this card. So much of me loved it but also I cried thinking of her. I cry daily as I think of her and have other photos around the house and at work. I miss her so much. We had her for 15 yrs. She is a Lakeland terrier. Looked a lot like this precious dog. I loved the papers I used as I felt it was feminine enough but also masculine enough to give to either.

Did everyone in the US get a nice start to spring? Our weather today in Washington state was beautiful. Warm (in the 50's) and only a little rain. Most of the day was sunny and bright.. now just bring it up to about 75-80 degrees and I will be fine..

 

Today is the Free Friday at Catch the bug / Bugaboo  bunny chick topper  I am loving the cute look on her face and the little Chickie's peaking out. I don't send cards out for Easter so thought this was a nice card for a friend and being together.. hence the sentiment that I added.

I hope you get a chance to pick up the free image.

I chose to use ballerina Sophia for my image and using the sentiment for the background and the end of a pencil pressed into Quick quote chalk in to give the little dots. I used a spellbinder die and cut her out and colored her with my copics. Reminds me of my mom. She loved to dance and she taught dancing as I was growing up to kids, she did tap dancing and recitals for her group of ladies up to about a year before she passed on. Lot's of good memories making this card.

Another sketch from Unscripted Sketches #248

 

This is the sketch, you can turn it, frame it, make a scrapbook page any project that kind follows the sketch as best as you can.  Just have fun

 

This is the card using the above sketch. Took a little head scratching to figure what I wanted to do and then remembered this alphabet die from Lil Inker... I just cut off a row and made it the size I needed and figured out a few words. I added the hearts to fill some spaces and the flowers to add more interest. I asked dear hubby what colors to make the flowers, he thought a nice yellow and so I grabbed a few samples, he chose this one and I love it. Was a fun card. It needed some faux stitching around the edge to help tie it all together. Hope it inspires you to play along at Unscripted Sketches.

Where did the week go... It's already Friday and woohoo. That is so sweet. Just to get through the day and on to the weekend. It's my great granddaughters 1st birthday party. Her birthday is actually today but we celebrate on the Saturday.

 

Well on to todays card. It's the Catch the bug /Bugaboo Free Friday image.. Rose block 

and I chose to make a sympathy card as my Uncle Bernard passed away yesterday. He is my mom's brother. He lives in Missouri so I have not seen him for some time but it still hurts as I hear from relatives about all that's going on there.  Now he is with my mom and their parents.

So is everyone enjoying the brighter morning and lighter nights?? I sure am. It's so nice to be off day light savings time. I did not like losing an hour of sleep but that's the price we pay once a year.

I love dragonflies and butterflies. This was a fun card to color and I had to add glitter to the wings. I used my cloud template to give it a background.

Listening to the lovely birds singing outside and the trees starting to change and flowers coming up I had to say Hello to spring and use these darling birds from Hero arts. I used some awesome textured papers to give a nice subtle background for the birds, acrylic heart,, punched ferns, goosebumps and called it done..

This is Free Friday and this spring block by Catch the bug/Bugaboo screams spring. I am so ready for spring warmer weather and beautiful flowers and birds.

For this card I chose to use ...of course spring colors, and I had this bird below that is dry embossed setting on my table, the background papers are left over from Quick quote scrapbook page their die cuts sometimes leaves pieces I just cant throw away so I cut them down to what I need and this was a perfect size. I put some glitter on the dragonflies wings and the butterfly. I did my cloud template for the background look. Added some sequins and called it done. Bring on spring. Cant wait to turn the clocks ahead this weekend. Not about loosing an hour of sleep but glad more daylight.. Now just need some sun vs. rain.

It's middle of the week and Wednesday is another challenge at Paper Pretties #300 - LOTS OF LAYERS 

I chose to use skater Zac because I wanted to color his skateboard with my atyou spica pens. LOL.  I love the look. I added lots of layers and fun embellishments. the circles in the lower left corner on the orange are hole enforcers which I sponged with ranger ink and then used an overall stamp and just stamped the whole sheet. Wa-la you now have a cool embellishment. Cheap and each sheet I did in different colors and images. I had a wooden button and the dude and HB are alphabet stickers. Just a fun card and lot of fun to make.

Today is Tuesday and that is new release at day at Catch the bug / Bugaboo  March block

I was not sure what I wanted to do with this March image as I already have a march calendar which I posted Sunday.. Then I thought I need a sketch booklet. I am always drawing out card designs during the day and then throw them in my purse and at the end of the week I clean my purse out and staple them together.. Well I thought why not make a monthly sketch pad. I really like the idea and I can just keep it at work and when an idea comes to me... there is my pad.

I wanted it nice and bright. I love yellow and blues so that was my choice for the colors. I had some scraps left over from other projects so used that and to hide the staples I used washi tape at the top and it was awesome that I had the right color tape..
