We have a new challenge at Aud Sentiments #198.. the theme for these two weeks is ANYTHING GOES + sentiment

 

 

For my card I used an old Judi Kins wooden stamp / the face.. I used some colored pencils to give some color to the eyes and lips. I used a large dot embossing folder for the base. I used Simon Says circle die and My favorite things die and sentiment.

Time for another challenge at Always Happy Birthday #3..

the theme this months is Pattern Paper and Happy Birthday

 

 

I used Basic Gray designer paper for this card. I die cut the sentiment with My Favorite Things die and then adhered to the card base. I tied twine to the bottom and used Martha Stewart punch for the ferns and Stampin Up punch for the flowers. I added Nuvo drops to the inside.

It's the end of February but the beginning of a new challenge at

 Inspiration Destination #145

and our theme is ANYTHING GOES

 

I was playing with my Mission and Kuetake paints and created the water color piece and then thought hay I will use my star die cuts from MFT create a sky theme card. I then took a black piece of card stock and splattered the white and gold Kuretake paint to create more stars. I then used the My Favorite Things star die and cut it out three times with a dark gray then die cut one more time with my shimmer silver looking card stock and stacked them. I added it to the card front then I heat embossed using Stampin up silver powder.  I hope you find time to play along.

Sunny Day Crafting #9 and our theme this week is

"I" for INSECTS

 

 

This card was fun to make. I took Hampton Arts insects and stamped them all over the background. I then stamped Tech. Tues. frog and insect and colored with Zig water color brushes and die cut them out. The branch is an old wood block stamp and I fussy cut it out and added it above the blue paper which represents water. I added the frog, insect and sentiment to the card. I used Spectrum Noir sparkle pen and Quick Quote chalk.

ANYTHING GOES + CHRISTMAS

 

 

So if you follow me you know I love water color smooshing backgrounds.. Well I was playing again and with different colors of Ranger inks and seeing what I could come up with for Christmas. So this is one of the backgrounds I created. I then needed to figure out what to add to it.. Well digging through my dies I found this awesome Poinsettia die from My Favorite Things so I found two different but close reds and cut the sections two times and then found a scrap of water color and die cut the piece in the center along with the gold for the top center piece. I used a scrap of Quick Quote paper for the leaves. I used silver shinny card stock and Reverse Confetti Merry die and Simon Says Christmas stamp.  I love the richness of this card. It is a wow card in my eyes.

This is Hedgehog.. I know it's a St. Patrick days image.. but like I've said before I don't do St. Patrick day. So I just colored him like I wanted. I used copics. I added an embossed background and then I stamped the Tech. Tues. on some DP and used an EK punch. I went over the flowers with Spectrum Noir sparkle pen.

This image is GIRLZ CELEBRATE..  I colored the image with colored pencils. I used a My favorite things die. I layered on black and added Simon says sentiment and heat embossed. I added this to Club scrap dp and added some bling. I went over the balloons with Spectrum Noir sparkle pen and a little white gel pen.

I am back with another fun challenge at Pause Dream Enjoy #8 ..

 the Orange team has a COLOR CHALLENGE for you..

 

 

COLOR /THEME

 

This is my card. I added the red cardstock to the background and the dark chocolate over that.. love dark chocolate.. and card stock. I stamped the Simon Says flowers and used Mission paints. I then embossed the sentiment from Simon Says.. I used My Favorite Things leaf die and scraps. Once everything was done I then added the flowers/leaves to the card. I added the Stampin Up wood heart which I colored with brown copic and went over it with Spectrum Noir sparkle pen.. I love the pinks against the dark chocolate. Perfect for that special someone you love letting them know how much they mean to you. If my dad was still with us.. this would be for him. He taught me so much. I miss him every day.

Hard to believe February is almost over.

I hope it's been a great month for you.

The Green team is back with another fun challenge at

Craftaholics R Us #8 and our theme is a favorite..

ANYTHING GOES  ... woo hoo  love that theme

 

 

 

So with a new year there are birthdays so I took advantage of the ATG's theme and made a birthday card.

This circle was cut a long time ago and with the My Favorite Things stitch die. I used Art Impressions "they say" sentiment and then a Simon Says "happy birthday" and stamped on the circle. I had a piece of  My Favorite Things die strip so used it for the grounding for the pets. The Crazy dog and cat were colored during the summer of 2017 using Mission paints. I die cut a Lil Inker balloon and used the Spectrum Noir glitter pen over the balloon and then added it to the card and added embroidery floss as the string. I added a white gel pen highlight to the balloon.

The background Kraft I ran through a numbers embossing folder and used Ranger ink and just skimmed the top to bring the numbers out.

May the simple joys - Bugaboo new release

This image is Edward St. Pats...  I really don't do St. Patrick day cards. So I just colored this a little different and kept the green to the background embossing folder by Tim Holtz. I colored the image with copics. When it was done I took my ruler and sent around the edges with a copic pen to make it look like the image was on a mat.. Well when I was done for some reason the lines of the ruler left this lined almost cross hatch look.. I almost cra---- my pants.. then I looked closely and was so happy it landed where it did and not on the image EXCEPT for his hand holding the flowers. So I used Paper Trey ink sentiment and added this in this area.. I added some twine to the bottom and made a circle die punch flower with a brad in the center. I added this to the twine bow..

Hugs on valentine's day - Monika and Billlie challenge

Well it's time for Monika and me to do our challenge between the two of us.. Monika of Creative with Monika chose the theme for this card between the two of us..

Background heat or dry embossed, masculine and valentines day card..

 

So I started with kraft paper and used a masculine looking embossing folder. I then took My favorite things and cut out the "hugs".. I did a couple layers of black and then the top was red.. Then I had a scrap of water color paper that was cut off of another project and I took Simon Says branch die and ran that through.. then found a scrap of reddish and brown water color scrap so die cut the hearts and foam mounted them.. well now I didn't like the red on the hugs.. so I tried teal.. nope didn't look right, tried a few more then found a scrap of green wood looking designer paper so cut that out and liked it so added this to the top of the "hugs". I then heat embossed the "on valentine's day" and added it over the hugs. I used Spectrum sparkle pen over the hearts.  I am liking and think it looks masculine..  Please head over to Monika's blog and see her masculine valentine's day card. she's great at masculine cards.

Stella Says Sketch challenge #604 at Catch the bug 

I love playing with sketches  and this was a fun one..

 

I have this fun image from Bugaboo..  This is 3 Square Floral - thinking of you.. I thought would be good for that loved one you're missing. Or a valentine card.. I colored the image with copics. I added ribbon along the edge and for the sentiment banner I stamped Stampin up "always"   so the card actually says "always thinking of you".. I added a button (I broke the shaft off the back).  I hope I have inspired you to play along.

So did you have a great Valentines day?..

It's our anniversary.. We had a nice celebration.

We're back with a Mid month reminder for the February challenge at Creative with Stamps #23 the theme is HEART

 

 

Note: CWS challenges do not have many "Guidelines", but please read and follow the few we do have to be eligible to win.

 

This is my card. I started by using a Great Impressions wood block stamp and Stampin up ink and stamping the stamp all over the card. (the stamp is a group of intertwined hearts) well it didn't look too good when I was done because there was just too much white... So took out a redish Ranger ink and went over the card.. well the red wasn't red enough more coral looking so then I grabbed some purple Ranger ink and went over the card.. Now you can hardly see the Stampin up inked hearts so I went back over the card with black inked hearts.. I liked it better. I then die cut the My Favorite Things "Smile" in a pink that looks like the background color. I layered it two times and added it to the card front. I added Spectrum Noir sparkle pen to the letters. I couldn't find the dot for the i so I colored a half pearl with a copic and added it. I heat embossed the MFT sentiment and added it to the card. I like the monochromatic look..
