Now on to the new release at Paper Pretties.. http://paperprettiesblog.blogspot.com/ We have this cute image and sentiments "cherry on top" there is also "buttercup" (not shown) and the theme for this Monday is "MAKE A SHAPE CARD" This is my MAKE A SHAPE CARD for the challenge inspiration using the little cherry on top image and words.. I felt it needed some bling so added it around the edges and some sparkle on the top of the cup cake..

Ok it feels great to have the old blog postings back to normal. (THANKS Steph). At least I think so. Unscripted Sketches challenge and piggyback - since Earth Day is coming use recycle on your card/project http://unscriptedsketches.com/

for my card I used a scrap of cork and I made the butterflies and flower using an old colorful calander page of Hawaii views and die cut the images. I love the nice feel of the thick calendar pages and the beautiful flowers really made for beautiful butterflies.. The ribbon is from an old bag handle and I cut it and used it for the card the button was from a shirt.

Paper Pretties new release and challenge... EMBOSS /DRY OR WET

Good Morning, I hope everyone had a great weekend. I went to a ladies Church retreat in Seaside Oregon. It's about 3 hours away and my dear crafting friend and I went and made a day of it going down on Friday, stopping shopping and just having a great time. The time at the retreat was great, uplifting and wonderful. The weather was beautiful. Last year it rained all the time we were there but this weekend was beautiful. The ocean is always beautiful in any kind of weather..

We have full image and sentiments of Peddie and Mannie.. I chose Mannie image and sentiment for my card. Fawn also has some new images. I did not have time to make a card but you can see all images at Paper Pretties. I hope you get to play along with the theme of EMBOSSING /DRY OR WET.. I did both, I used an embossing folder for the pink and teal and then used wet embossing for the background behind Mannie.

One stamp set three cards

Yesterday, since I am home still recovering from Bronchitis.. I needed to make some sympathy cards.. My dear friend lost her father Monday night and I know her mother and sister quite well and they all live very very close so I wanted to make each a card and thought why not use one stamp set make it work.. What better stamp set but Paper Trey botanical silhouettes.. I felt it needed to have a little extra since it was so white /plain so did the various lines around to give it a completion. I wanted to keep them simple but beautiful. I used Ranger distress ink as I love the soft look it gives and memento black for the stems/words..

I have had this cool die from Tim Holtz for the post and thought this would be a great time to use it and hang the birdhouse from it and add the little fence below and punch out a bird so it looks like it's coming home to complete my scene. With Sympathy

With Sympathy card

Tonight I am adding another card, this one is part of the gift cards I made for our ladies church retreat coming up this weekend. I find it hard to make sympathy cards because I don't want it too busy or too plain.. I like the way this came out.

Another thing that is crazy is that I have always wondered how to get a title and date on my postings.. duh right above this box it says Title: - what is crazy I had to have a girlfriend point that out to me. So for two plus years of posting I have not seen this.. OMG how crazy. My friends also said that once it's posted it should put the date in so I am hoping that it does. If it doesn't then today or rather tonight is April 9, 2012 .. I would like to blame this all on the bronchitis I'm fighting but you know that's not true.

Good morning. I trust everyone is off the sugar high from Easter and back to the usual routine. On this end it was a very quite Easter. Hubby and I still fighting bronchitis..second round of antibiotics..

Anyhow back to what today is about.. sorry I don't have the watermark images for these, I don't know what happened to them so if you hop over to the link below you ll see what the full set looks like. for my card I used "along for the ride" and Lot's of layers. I had fun building this scene and drawing in the grass turfs, using my cloud template to ink in some clouds and of course a tree and birds.

I combined these two darling images from Catch the bug .. Easter bunny and chick.. I did not have jelly beans so what I did was take a flower die from PTI and cut out some designer papers and then cut the petal out to make it look like a jelly bean or even an egg.. I just could not get a good shape doing it by hand and this trick was so much easier.
