Happy New Year's eve and hope you have a wonderful 2013 year. Hope your goals set for the new year are not out of reach and you're able to achieve them. I try to think positive and not set myself up for failure by making my goals too far out there that they can't be reached.

 

Well today we have our last Monday challenge at Paper Pretties. This weeks challenge is to CREATE A WINTER CREATION.. This is my creation, Cocoa re-release image. This cute cat standing in snow sipping her cocoa and her cute little winter friends in the background and the trees made my little scene. Hope you can play along.

I thought with Valentines day coming and also just the love month and anniversaries (we were married Valentines day-awhaaa) this would be a great time to start those great feel good cards. Not that other cards aren't feel good but some are just fun, every day cards. I really had fun choosing the colors and how to complete the card. I needed to add the flower to the blank space it just looked so empty. I love how with sketches you can still add those extra little touches as long as you stay with the main sketch layout.  Hope it encourages you to play along.

It's almost the end of 2012. I'm looking forward to a wonderful, healthy, happy, peaceful new year. I hope everyone has a wonderful 2013 year.

 

Today we have a free Friday image from Catch the bug this cutie is Lil Kitty.  I thought it would make a cute "Hang I there" card. You could do some simple surgery by cutting the hands and branch off and have it hanging over a box or a cute heart for a Valentine card. I hope you pick it up - it's free - got to love that...Also check out the store at CTB, there's a great sale going on. Get those favorites while they are reduced from the already low price.

Merry Christmas I hope your day is filled with the true meaning of Christmas and with family and friends and full of love.

Catch the bug  new release is FOOTBALL COUCH POTATO   I love this image. I am not a football person but love the image and thought it was a good New Year's card as my hubby is a football person and know that football will be on the TV New Years day.  Thank goodness for another TV in my craft room.. I also love the sentiment I used. It's really more for holidays but I know some men and women think that football season is  the "most wonderful time of the year".. LOL

I thought I would try to make a living room theme. So the dp with the flower is the carpet, the gingham is the wall paper and the little chair rail is the ribbon.. I love how it came out. Was really a fun card to make.. Hope you check out the new images at Catch the bug. There's a big sale going on over there.. Check it out.

PAPER PRETTIES challenge   this weeks challenge is

WHITE - BLACK - CHOICE OF COLOR  (I chose green)

Paper Pretties has awesome images and I chose to use a re-release bugle bear for my image this time. Check out the Paper Pretties link above to see what other DT members used for their image.

 

I'm thinking this would make a great New Years card, engagement, retirement, any great announcement that you would toot your horn about. I have these awesome music notes die from My Favorite Things and I love the added look this gave to my card it really kind of finished it off. I punched out a circle of black card stock and then added the button on top, applied stickles all over the button then added the other die on top. I love how this came out.

This was a fun image to color and break out the same old paper pads which I have used a lot this season, used some of my ribbon stash.  I have so much ribbon I really need to use it more often. The button has a piece of dark blue card stock behind it as the button blended too well with the ribbon so this kind of broke it up.

It's Saturday and a new sketch from Unscripted Sketches this is #189  this week there is a piggyback add on to the sketch, make the FOCAL POINT DISTRESSED. http://unscriptedsketches.com/ 

 

I got this darling image from "Your next stamp" and knew I had to use it for this sketch. I am loving the way it came out (until I got a little black mark on the birds body ;( ...)  I thought I would extend the cord to the ornament to the card base wrapped cording. I used the Tim Holtz distressing tool to ruff up the circle edges and then used Ranger ink to kind of bring color in.

I used the background paper as the main design and a tag punch for the words. Kept it quite clean and simple. We love that at this time of year.. Yea??

 

 I love when 12x12 pattern paper can be cut down and still use a large part for the card feature and not loose the image because it's too small. I purchased quite a few 12x12's years ago but found I hardly used as the 6x6 was so much easier. So its fun when I dig out those large pads and can use them.

I am using my desktop computer vs. laptop so I hope this all comes works out ok. I had set up an appointment to have my LT looked at a couple of days ago for Sunday for just a check up, clean it, check for virus just simple stuff... well Saturday when I went to pre- post and get some things off the computer which is used 90% for crafting I could not even get it to work.. so had to retake the photo and find sites for challenges and such. What a headache but so glad I had the appointment to get it in the shop so my days out aren't too bad.. AND at least I have a desk top computer which is new and haven't been on since I got it probably close to a year ago.

I have always loved this cute little image of "bird and friend" from Catch the bug. Isn't it just darling.  I used washi tape for the dotted strip also glittered up the snow with stickles. I was going to use  some diamond dust (glass shards) I bought but I get concerned using it as it has some really sharp pieces in it. Really not sure why I got it now that I realize what it really is.  (What do you do with your diamond dust?)

I mean the wooden ones not the plastic ones of today's. I loved my little rocking horse and I remember I had a red Annie Oakley outfit complete with leather fringe, cowgirl boots and cap guns. Boy those were the times. This reminds me so much of my little pony.

Thought this would be a cute card for a child, like my grandchild. I think it has one of my grand kids name on it. I kept it kind of simple with the red and gray. I like the round shape and the little ho - ho- ho stickers.. cute huh?

ANYTHING BUT A CARD CHALLENGE

 

This image is GARNER he is a re-release. Doesn't he look like he'd make a great anniversary, love, happy birthday, I'm sorry, get well --heck any card?

I decided to make a tag, it's quite big 3x8 but I wanted the image to be large enough to color and I knew what I wanted to do.. Shock - as I have a mind block when it comes to tags. I love how it came out. I have a whole box full of assorted yarns and chose some awesome yarns to go on the tag.

 This is the card I made for the Sunday Stella Sketch 124. I used Ruby Christmas tree image. Woo Hoo another Christmas card made.  I used lots of old papers, I have about 4 12x12 Christmas pads and just chose papers that I thought looked good together. I used some old stars from my local craft store. I felt that the left side of the card was too bare. I like the way the stars kind fill that void.
