Happy Birthday -

Thursday July 6, 2017

I got this stamp set in my Simon Says monthly kit.. I have been wanting to use it and since I still had it out figured now is the time..

I stamped the image twice and embossed in white.. I then took my H2O paints and painted the image. I took Simon Says sentiment and embossed in gold.. It's done and I love it. I like the way the black shows through the paint.. This is kind a what I wanted to do with the card I posted the other day that was the Hero arts background.. Glad I waited and tried the H2o's on this instead.

Being unique is better than being perfect

Wednesday July 5, 2017

Hope you all in the USA had a great safe 4th of July.
We don't do anything on the 4th of July. Living in the country and logging community there are all sorts of fireworks and illegal ones for sure.. So we just calm the 4 legged kids and tough it out. Wouldn't bother me if the stopped it and only had the fireworks at controlled areas.
So playing I was making a background and thought looks like Halloween colors... so
I don't really do Halloween but love the colors. Well at least what I think are the colors of Halloween..

I chose a stamp set from Simon Says that has different size circles. I took out various inks and just stamped all over the card with different size circles and then took a outline only circle and did the little gold rings. I then stamped Tim Holtz crazy birds and the broom, hat and pumpkin and embossed in black. I colored them with Zig markers and used Spectrum Noir glitter pen on the eyes. I layered them on the card and stamped the sentiment from Tech. Tues.

Merry Christmas - Catch the bug - New Release

Tuesday July 4, 2017

For all of us in the USA I hope you have a safe 4th. Be aware of all that is around you but have fun and celebrate our country.

It's a laid back time in this household. Just keeping the little 4 legged kids happy and under control with fireworks.

well today being Tuesday at Catch the bug it's New Release day.. You can find the new release in the Bugaboo Store
Kinda funny.. it's a Christmas image vs. patriotic image.. LOL

This is the fun image (we have Christmas in July coming July 15-21) you may want to pick this image up if you are low on Bugaboo Christmas images.

I stamped the front of the jar with Simon Says Merry Christmas sentiment.. I colored the image with copics. I covered a few of the images with Spectrum Noir glitter pen and white gel pen highlights. I then cut the piece out using My Favorite Things stitch die. I took a scrap of Quick Quote paper and wrapped some Stampin up silver cording around center area. I then added the colored image. I added a little bling piece to the cording..

Believe - I can do all things through Christ

Monday July 1, 2017

Well I have so many supplies and I have been wanting to do a mixed media type art piece and I love those kind of pieces.. So I said screw it.... I'm heading in. I can either love it or round file it... WELL I LOVE IT...
I started with a piece of 4.5 X 6 water color paper.. I sprayed three Dylusions sprays on it and spritzed with water and dried the piece.  I took a stamp that had writing on it and stamped it a couple places with out re-inking. I had a dandelion stamp I did the same. I then took Texture paste and a square stencil and added the paste in a few places.(I kind a like the bleed through vs. the white)  I then took a round stencil and some Art Anthology black texture paste that has grit in it, like a sand and did the circles in a few places.  I went through my chip board and found the piece with an arrow on it and a couple flowers. I colored them with Lumiere paint then went around the edges with some distressed crayons. I found this "I can do all things through Christ" from Paper Trey Ink stamped it on some cream card stock and cut out with a oval die cut. I took some gold Lumiere paint and added it over the sentiment. I die cut Simon Says Believe three times and layered them. Before I added anything I went around the edge of the piece with Distressed crayon in black and smeared it around.  I then added all of the pieces to the background base. I like that the arrow chipboard piece and Believe points down to the scripture.. I added a nice piece of white card stock behind the piece (since the backside was messy looking) it's on my coffee table so I can look at it daily. I hope it inspires me to create more.. I'd love to do a canvas piece. Plus I love the Believe - I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Life is tough, but so are YOU

Sunday July 2, 2017

Few months ago I bought this AWESOME amazing background stamp by Hero Arts.. This stamp is so awesome and so detailed.. It's the background you are looking at.. YUP that is not designer paper.. it's a stamp.
I took black card stock and versa mark ink stamped it and then added Simon Says white embossing powder. Heated it..
Now when I first thought to use this stamp I was just going to stamp it, emboss it then paint certain areas with my H2O paints.. BUT I saw this and thought no way was I going to mess this up with paints. I don't know that it would even work or look good.. guess maybe some time I will try it but not now.. this is too gorgeous as is..
OK so I love black/white and red together.. So found a great red card stock and die cut the YOU from My Favorite Things.. I cut it twice and layered it.. I then used one of the many sentiments from the same set at MFT.. and heat embossed it in the same white.. Layered it over the YOU.. It's done. So simple and so pretty.. Well I think it is.

Celebrate you! - Creative with Stamps #16

Saturday July 1 2017

Welcome to another month long challenge at
This months theme is Celebrate... I know we just had some graduation celebrations so that was on my mind so I made a gift card holder for a female.. Lot's of flowers.

This is my card to hopefully inspire you.. Give you some ideas.. I used Simon Says celebrate stamp and various flowers from different sets. I masked off part of the sentiment as I only wanted the Celebrate you.. I then stamped a bunch of flowers. I colored them in with colored pencils. I added some white gel pen and Nuvo drops to some of the images. I then made a gift card / money envelope from a Lawn Fawn die. I have this awesome silhouette die from Impression Obsession so I used the female .. that is why all of the flowers.. and added it to the envelope. The little circle piece by her foot is to hold the flap close. I added some Nuvo drops to the envelope just to dress it up some. I think it came out ok.  If you need ideas check out what the design team did for their celebrate cards.

Happy Birthday - Catch the bug * Saturday challenge

Saturday July 1, 2017

Welcome to Catch the bug
It's the first Saturday in July so that means it's Anything Goes.. woo hoo..

I am using the image Birthday Monkey Topper - it was a new release a few months back.. But I had to use it again. He's so cute and I needed a birthday card.. I colored the image with copics. I then created the tag using my Tim Holtz tag die. I used Oxide Distressed ink and applied the inks over it. I spritz with water. I did not get too much of an effect. But it's kind a there. I added a brad to the hole area and added Simon Says Happy Birthday.. I took the background paper and ran it through an embossing folder. I added the monkey to the card and added them to the background. I added some Spectrum Noir to the balloon and Nuvo drops to the card.
