Happy Father's Day - Samson

Monday June 18, 2018

I sent this card below to my son for Father's day.. He's given me two wonderful grand children.
I had in my mind what I wanted to create but as I went along it changed. I guess until it's adhered down you can make any changes you want.. I started by finding this fun paper my My minds eye.. I then had a strip of the horizontal paper on my desk so I cut it so it was a little narrower (my other son got the other half.. - tomorrow's card) I added it to the stripe paper and then  I added this to a dark gray background piece. On vellum I stamped the sentiment from Sugar Peas design with Staz-on and then using Stampin up ink stamped the argyle above and below.. I used Stampin up stitch die to cut it out.. I didn't like it up against the strip so I turned a scrap piece left over from the stripe card front and die cut the wood grain other side and added this behind the sentiment. It looked better. I added Close to my heart bling.

Hello - Catch the bug ABC

Monday June 18, 2018

Monday at Catch the bug is ABC - ANYTHING BUT a CARD

Well usually I make tags/book marks or journal pages but today I decided to make a note pad cover. I scored a piece of card stock so it covered the front and sent around the top of the pad and half way down the back. (only cause my card stock wasn't long enough) The image is called 4 calling birds (this comes with a group of images from the Christmas set) which can be found in the Bugaboo store. I then colored the image with copics and used my cloud template for the sky. I had a scrap of water color paper from a test idea that I didn't end up liking so I used this and My favorite things Hello die and cut this out. I added a Simon says scallop stitch die strip under the bird. I will keep this on my table and write out my lists when needed. I like this idea.  I may have to do more of these.

thank you for thinking of me - Always Fun Challenges #63

Monday June 18, 2018

I have now joined another fun challenge team.. Always Fun Challenge.. We have a new challenge each Monday and you can enter up to three cards. Nice huh?
So I hope you join us at Always Fun Challenges #63
this week we have a SKETCH for you to follow
(ignore the Paper play sketches name - Janis owns the sketch and PPS closed last year)

This is my card.. I used a wood grain white card stock and didn't want to cover it up with solid card stock, so I added a strip of thick vellum.. this is where the flowers and sentiment are. The stamps I used are Simon Says and Pretty Pink Posh. I used Mission gold water colors and some Prisma colored pencils. I heat embossed the sentiment and then some scraps and Stampin up dies for the leaves. I used some sequins (to hold down the edges for the vellum) This is all adhered to blue card stock base.

You are a life saver

Sunday June 17, 2018

Well I was in a crafty mood to try to paint a water scene. I like the boat and life saver but I wanted to make a scene that was unusual. So I took out my little tin of Ranger and Stampin up re-inkers and painted in the water and sky.. on a separate piece of paper I stamped the boat and life saver and painted with the re-inkers. I fussy cut them out. I laid them down on the paper and just didn't work.. What was I to do with the life saver.. So I drew in the anchor and painted it. I then hung the life saver on the anchor.. now it looked better. I took a white gel pen and gave white cap effects. I stamped the sentiment and added this to the card. I think it's a fun scene. I love the large anchor.

Congrats - Graduation #10

Saturday June 16, 2018

OK this is the last card of my Graduation theme cards.. I am using the last Stampin up Congrats that was stamped aprox. a year ago.. I had to use it cause I didn't want to lose it or throw it away.. LOL. that's why I have so many scraps. I can't throw away anything. Ok I had to use this fun designer paper of books.. I kept singing "no more paper no more books no more teachers dirty looks"... LOL .. Is this perfect for a graduation card or what..  I hope you've enjoyed seeing my same design but different paper and choice of 3 different sentiment cards.. It's been so much fun to create.

My blood type is - Catch the bug BINGO Saturday

Saturday June 16, 2018

Hello all and it is the middle of June already..
Dang the older I get the faster the days go.. Well on to today..
Today at Catch the bug we have a new challenge. BINGO

BINGO card to follow

Oh my I am a dog person and I am loving this cuttie.. He's Chihuahua 02... which means he comes in a set of three. now who doesn't love that.. you can find the image in the Bugaboo store I love the cute look on this face and since he was sitting in a coffee cup I thought this Tech. Tues. sentiment went perfect for this card. For the card I chose the middle row.. Distress / Die-punch / Bugaboo image. I have this old news print so I used some watered down Ranger ink and distressed this piece. I crumpled it and then ironed it out. I took the image and tore off the bottom edge and using Quick Quote chalk ink went around the edges. I colored the image with copics. For the flowers I looked through my scraps and using MFT small dies and EK smaller punch I cut the circles and using a brad to complete the flower I then added the flowers to the card. I went through my box of leaves and chose a couple to add to the flower scene. I think the dies for the leaves is Stampin Up.

Oh really! - Creative with Stamps #27

Friday June 15, 2018

This is Mid month reminder at Creative with Stamps #27
and the theme is CUTE ANIMAL

Note: CWS Challenges do not have many "Guidelines", but please read and follow the few we do have to be eligible to win.

This was a fun card to make. I had some images I colored last year using my Mission paints. So I went through my stash and found these Tim Holtz dog and cat. I just had to die cut them out. I then went through my Quick Quote scraps and using My favorite things circle die I added them to the card front. I cut off the excess and then added a strip of tan so they would have grounding. I then stamped the Dylusions sentiment and cut the sentiment out and using foam mounted and added this to the card.  I don't have a cat but from what I know about them this looks like what the cat would say to the dog.. LOL
