The sentiment is from PTI.  Such a nice spring type of card and it will be here before long, but also perfect for Valentines day. I hope you play along and enter your card over at the Catch the bug blog.

Friday January 23, 2015

I know that Friday is Free Friday and there is a free Friday image at Catch the bug called RD Brain rain.. it's a darling bear holding an umbrella standing in the rain.  I did not use him on my card..

I then cut out three WISHING and layered them to give stability.. and the sentiment all from Simon Says.. Catch the bug day 6 of our birthday bash, Oldie but goodie "Send in the clowns" You must use a clown on your card, and a happy birthday

I am not much of a clown person but I have to tell you I think this guy colored up really nice. I used the image clowning around.
I had this new die from Simon says the circles and thought it gave a nice look to go with the rings the clown is juggling.  I like the sentiment What's up? your amazing and then the inside being the birthday sentiment.  Think this will go to my great grandson. Of course to be funny/humorous I had to use Stella.. I used Stella birthday alternative  She is one funny lady. I did use the sentiment from Art Impressions as it's one of my favorite sentiments for birthdays and it goes so well with Stella. I kept this card kind a simple. The flowers in the lower left corner is from the dp, I just added the H B and I had this teal mesh that was just sitting on my desk so added just a little to each end. Pretty simple but I love it.

Our second sponsor is Little Blue button stamps

This is the card I made using Miss Lilly coffee break  by Little Blue Button stamps and I wanted her to sit on the frame ledge. She is so cute.. almost too young to drink coffee.. I really like having these sitting images on a frame ledge. I did the same at Christmas time for a card. I liked the results. I added the allover stamp which is about kinds of coffees. Perfect for the frame. I added the chocolate twine to the bottom corner to give some interest. I had this awesome background yellow paper that is so touchy I love the feel of it. It was in a pack of papers a co worker gave me. It's so much fun to touch. I've put off using it because I did not want it covered up, thought this gave a good showing of it. Those silver dots are really raised and fun to rub your hands over. Added some buttons just because..

Day 4 Catch the bug Color challenge and New Release / Happy Birthday

Tuesday January 20, 2015

Welcome to day #4 of the Birthday bash.. Ya having fun yet??

I tried to stay with the colors above but had to throw in some others. I used the reddish color for her nose and her outfit some of the other colors.. OH this is one of the images from the Birthday Bash Set called Kidz clown tag.. cute huh. I also used a lot of the circles my DH and I punched out over Christmas break.. I knew they would come in handy. Sure saves time having them ready vs. having to punch them all out NOW.. (we just took a lot of my scraps and various circle punches and we both just punched and punched for a long time) It adds a lot of color and interest to the background and leaves just coloring the image to worry about. I like it.

I hope you play along and you could win the whole set of the Kidz clown images. You'll love it.

Artistic Inspiration Guest Designer spotlight / Anything goes with twist / Triangles

Monday January 19, 2015

Their sponsor is Fitztown  and I am using the image Cutie 8

This is my card using the image Cutie 8. I thought with the theme being Anything goes / Twist -Triangles, that this image was perfect. She has a triangle shape body plus she is holding a triangle piece of cheese. I die cut a piece of cheese yellow card stock and took my circle stamp by a muse and used versa mark ink and clear embossing powder to give a cheese look. The designer paper is from my minds eye with colorful triangles. I die cut another triangle and did the sentiment on it, also adding more circle in versa mark but not embossing. Day 2 Catch the bug 5th birthday bash - Sketch / happy birthday

Day 2 Sunday January 18, 2015

Day two of the birthday bash at Catch the bug - Sketch

Just use the below sketch and make your card and post to the above link. Join us in a fun filled birthday party.. Party on !!!

This is my card using the above sketch.  WO hapbee birthday  is the image I used. Had to use some flowers on my card as it just was in need of them I though. These are one of my favorite.  Hubby and I took a LOT of scraps and punched out about 4 different size circles and scallop circles and these fun little flowers. So I have a large variety of colors and it's just for the grabs when needed. I love this and got rid of a lot of paper scraps. I had hubby while I was off at work punch out a bunch of leaves.. I just gave him a bunch of green papers and he just punched now and then so have a good variety there too.. For my card I used the scallop, circle, flowers and leaves. Sweet not having to take time out to punch some. I used an embossing folder for the background as when I was laying out the card it looked to plain.  This is a nice fun card and woo hoo another birthday card for a loved one.

Challenges:

Catch the bug Free Friday / Thanks for being awesome

Friday January 16, 2015

Friday and that means Free Friday at Catch the bug
Todays Free image is AKV SOCCER GIRL

This is my card using the free image. I took a manila tag and ranger inks and colored it.. using the water spritz and placing the card in the ink until I got the effect I wanted.  Then I used an embossing folder on the red/orange card and cut the corners to mimic the tag. Added some white floss, small piece of mesh and then cut the image out and used pop dots and raised her over the tags. I had a great sentiment from Verve and thought this would fit nicely. I thought it would be nice for a parent/ aunt/uncle/ friend to give the sport person in your life for a little encouragement card.   Win or loose it's how you play and being awesome.    I hope you head over to Catch the bug / Bugaboo and grab your free image.. #16 and as always its ANYTHING GOES

Our week challenge is sponsored by Rick St dennis

This is the image I chose to use from Rick St dennis called Charlotte Chic  I love her fun look and sassy attitude.  I had no intention of cutting her out .. but when I was adding red to her hair it really ran/bled onto the white.. so I chose to cut her out vs. reprinting her as I wanted that red hair to go along with my color theme.  I had this 12x12 paper from Club scrap and it said hello gorgeous but beings I had to cut it down it now says he gor.. funny.. I used it anyhow as I love the red and purple.  She was a lot of fun to work with and I hope you play along. Catch the bug / New release colored image / Would this face lie?

Tuesday January 13, 2015

Catch the bug New Release colored image I chose not to use the colored image. The image is Monster rose which has been in the store. But Jodie who draws these cute images has had requests for colored images so she re-released the image colored.. Head over to Catch the bug and check it out.

This is my card using the image MONSTER ROSE that I COLORED.. Jodie's new release is colored purple.. I know there are those who like pre colored images and I think it's awesome if you are traveling or snow bird and don't want to bring all of your coloring supplies but still want to craft or vacationing somewhere where you cant take those supplies.. I know if I had to bring my craft stash  I'd need twice as many suitcases.. heck I'd almost go naked if I had to choose craft supplies vs. cloths.. Key word is almost and that will never happen.. ...and believe me you'd want to see my colored projects not a naked body...   I used two dies, stampin up and spellbinder, and su punch, the papers are from basic gray.. I really like the sentiment but haven't been able to use it much because it takes certain images to carry it off.  Oh and the I love you is an old D.O.T.S stamp..

My time to craft #274 - stripes

Catch the bug Free Friday / AKV super hero / u r my hero

Friday January 9, 2015

This new image for free is called AKV Super Hero

I had to use this background paper that I got from a dear blog crafting friend Monika Reeck who lives in Germany and from Indonesia.. The paper is a batik from Indonesia.. It's so thin but so colorful. I love it.   I know the super hero looks like he's coming from a fire.. or active explosive background and so that is another reason I thought he looked like he needed this background paper.. .. I used a star die from MFT and used my wink of stella pen... OH BY THE WAY if you have a wink of stella pen and it's dried up... DO NOT THROW IT AWAY... unscrew the water part from the brush part and take off that little cap area and fill it with water.. then replace all back as it was.. and shake it up.. OH MY you get so much more usage... Just look at the glitter on the stars compared to the one with just the  U R my star..  I saw Jennifer McGuire talk about it on one of her videos.. so glad I heard about it as mine was drying out..   I hope you like my card and grab the free image at Catch the bug... also THANK YOU MONIKA!!  : )  I hope you like what I did. hugs

Catch the bug Humor Wednesday - Bubble bath day /Refresh, Renew, Revive

Wednesday January 7, 2015

I am using the image Scarlette bubble bath for my image. I had the stripes on the top and the hearts on the bottom but when I went to put the image on I had it completely upside down.. Did not realize it till I want to put it aside.. So the hearts dp is upside down but they are so abstract that it's not noticeable unless I told ya... right? Anyhow I think I like it better with the stripes on the bottom half anyhow so a happy mistake. Needless to say I needed to cut the back off of the card and layer it onto another card base.. oh well.

Catch the bug New Release / big heart bear/ you make my heart sing

Tuesday January 6, 2015

Welcome to the first New Release at Catch the bug for 2015
We have this darling called Big Heart Bear..

This is the card I made using the new image.. I thought with the heart and sentiment I chose to use that it went well and I wanted to say away from the reds so used the purples and graduated the colors on the heart.. I used very dark purple scraps of paper to die cut the music notes.. they look black but they are not same with the little heart by the sentiment.. I think adding glossy accents over them caused them to look a lot darker. I really wanted a brighter, happier, spring looking card.  I hope you enjoy and look for more awesome images from Catch the bug/Bugaboo

Fitztown January 2015 challenge - Anything goes with a twist / pattern paper

Monday January 5, 2015

Welcome to a month long challenge from Fitztown - we have changed our challenges to go monthly. We have a couple of teams and first team will introduce the challenge and mid month the other team will remind you and show their lovely works of art to tempt you to play along. We will have a challenge starting the 5th of each month and ALWAYS - ANTHING GOES WITH A TWIST- each month will have a different twist. January's is PATTERN PAPER

This is the card I made, I think that the bears are to be Panda bears but I decided to make them brown bears.. they are my bears so I can make them any color I want right...? .. I was confused enough how to color brown little alone panda black and white.  This image is called Wild 2 and can be found there at the link.  I like the textured looking paper I used it's a pad I got recently and I had some corrugated paper I just pealed off the hard base and put it under the image added some flowers and leaves and I think this makes for a nice manly card maybe for a father with a couple of kids.. nice fathers day card. Who knows.  Any how your main thing is to play along and use pattern paper. How simple is that..
