BEE yourself - Alphabet challenge letter Y - Yellow

Friday March 12, 2021

Hello

I have a card to share for the challenge going on over at

Our challenge is
Y - YELLOW

For my card I dug through my papers I created a long time ago. This is another gelli plate creation using an old thin 12x12 designer paper that I had cut down to 6x6 and using acrylic paints and other fun things got a crazy design. I did this many years ago and it's fun looking through them. I took the Simon Says bee stamp set and stamped the honey comb and die cut the honey comb. A few years ago I stamped a bunch of images on watercolor paper and during the summer sat out on the deck and painted them. I cut them out using the dies and put in containers.. animals / floral / holiday.. etc. I dug through and found these Pretty Pink Posh bees.. perfect for the card. I stamped the SS sentiment on a yellow scrap and cut down. I added this, the bees, the honey comb die to the paper.  There is my yellow card. Yes there's a few other colors but I think you need that.. Most of the card is yellow for the theme.

Challenges:
Crafty animals #48 - anything goes /w animal
QKR stampede #415 - anything goes
Lemon short bread #141 - anything goes
As you like it - favorite way cut image (I like dies to give me crisper edges and the honey comb die would be impossible with scissors.... at least for me. Give extra texture to the card)

Gnome Sweet Gnome - Always Fun Challenge #144

Monday January 6, 2020

Hello.. We are back with another challenge over at

Our theme this week is SOMETHING NEW

I used the Gnome die from the December Simon says kit.. I loved this when I first saw it was being added to the kit. I finally got to use it. I started with finding a green piece of scrap. I stamped with Stampin up ink the stick trees in the background. I then used calico spray to give some shimmer to the background. I used some white paint to add some snow. I used more scraps and SS die to create the ground and used Ranger ink along the edge. I took the house dies and more scraps and created the awesome houses. I then used more scraps in fun brighter colors and created the Gnome.. He's so cute. I used copics to color his nose and beard. I added the pieces to the gnome base and put the nose in a foam dot. I then added him to the card and stamped the SS sentiment. I love this fun image. I will be using this gnome with maybe some spring papers.. You see them in gardens all the time so they aren't always for Christmas.. no I don't have any gnomes in my yard. But I think it would be awesome to have a few.

Stella is one of my favorites.. She's quite funny and this sentiment is right up my alley.. This is Stella push my luck..  I colored her with copics. He restores my soul

Sunday November 4, 2018

We did a bible study on Psalm 23.. The Lord is my shepherd..
 by Jennifer Rothschild.
We had a day we all decided to paint what we got or felt from the study.. I just kinda followed the verses.. Green pastures, still waters and how we are the sheep and the Lord is my shepherd, He restores my soul.  This is what my heart spoke.
I painted with acrylics on a 8x11 canvas.  I love the way it came out and how it came as my mind saw it. The Lord for sure guided my hand. I have done very little painting and  I am so happy with my scene.  I like the depth and I love those little sheep. I used a stipple brush and dabbed to give a fluffy look also used the same effect for the trees..

Just wanted to say you're amazing

Thursday April 19, 2018

I was just playing in my craft room and I stamped this Simon Says flower and I also found on a shelf some liquid inks.. Susan Pickering Rethamel Pinata. I don't think I have ever used them and not even sure where I got them. I decided to give it a try. So I dropped a few drops in my little tray and just painted. I didn't care where color went or what I was just experimenting at this point. Since I didn't have any green in this set I took Lumiere green and used it for the leaves. I left the room and just let it be. Well couple days later I went back in and thought wow this kinda looks good. So I took a My favorite things die and cut it out. I then took some black cardstock and cut another. I then cut a section off as I didn't like it all one piece and across the card. I then thought the shimmer paper I was going to mount it to looked so plain so I watered down some black acrylic paint and splattered it all over. Once it was dry I added the flower part to the card. I thought hum I need a sentiment so I took the other piece and embossed the sentiment. I went over the flower with Spectrum Noir shimmer pen. I had fun just playing and seeing what could be done.
