You've been touched by an angel - Craftaholics R Us #49

Wednesday December 13, 2017

Welcome to another challenge at Craftaholics R Us #49
Are you ready for a new challenge..
 The theme is EMBOSS
Check out the Green Teams creations at Craftaholics R Us

With the theme being Emboss... I figured I would do both Dry and Wet..
I stamped the angel image and used white embossing powder. I then smooshed Ranger ink on my craft matt and spritzed with water and laid the embossed angel piece in the ink. I dried it and repeated till I got the effect I wanted.
I then took my embossing folder and ran the cardstock through my Vagabond. I went around the edges with some Ranger ink and added the inked angel who is by Stamp Francisco.  The sentiment is ???? I don't know. Both are wooden stamps and the name was not on it.  I added some sequins and Nuvo drops.

May you always be content - Paper Play Sketches

Wednesday September 20, 2017

Welcome to a fun filled day for paper crafting.
Today at Paper Play Sketches we have a color theme.. woo hoo love color themes.. Really makes me put on the thinking cap..

This is the theme... cant wait to see what you create..

So I saw the leaves and thought ok that makes it easier.. And with fall in the air this would be a fun card. So I took out my Stampin up leaves. I had this large leaf so I embossed it with black on Bristol and used my Zig markers and got the colors where I wanted them. I then die cut the image out and went over the leaf with Wink of Stella then took my Versa Mark and went over the whole image and clear embossed. I then found a few other Stampin up leaves I liked and went through my scrap box and found some papers that were ok with the color challenge and stamped the veins and took Quick quote chalk ink and went around the edges after I die cut them out.. I added a few small Martha Stewart punched leaves. The gray piece is a left over from a Quick Quote kit. I laid it all out and used foam dots behind most of the leaves. I stamped the Tech. Tuesday sentiment in the lower right corner. I used QQ chalk ink in pink and distressed the white card. For the final touch I added various drops of Nuvo Drops.  I love this card and the fun colors.

We have enough youth... Catch the bug

Monday September 18, 2017

Today being Monday that means that
I always have fun with it's my time to do a ABC project.

This time I created a book mark

Awhile back I saw Jennifer McGuire take an envelope and seal the back flap then cut the envelope in half and then turn and cut in half again.. Depending on the size of your envelope you may not want to do in half but gauge how big you want your book mark to be. I went 3 X 3.5... so my envelope was for sure not in quarters.. I took another envelope and cut the same size and added tape to front and back and inserted it inside the other so that I had a sturdy book mark since envelopes are pretty flimsy.  I guess you could use 2 pieces of card stock and get same effect.

I took some Ranger Distress grit paste and added some dots with my dot stencil. I set it aside to dry.
I took the bobble head farm cat from Bugaboo and colored the image with copics and fussy cut him out.  I found this sentiment from Stella September calendar image. I thought it was went along with the theme of the book mark.

since the background of the book mark has the folded flaps of the envelope I took a piece of scrap card stock and stamped a My Favorite Things book sentiment. I then took my Glaze black pen and doodled around the edges. I then adhered to the backside of the book mark.

Behind every successful woman

Saturday September 16, 2017

So I am playing along with the Fall Coffee Lovers bloghop...
I made a card last night and today is another card.
I hope to make a card every day of the hop.

This is another painted (with Mission water colors) stamp and sentiment that I did while on my deck enjoying the nice heat while it's here.. Fall is in the air. The set is by Verve Stamps. I fussy cut them out and added glossy accents to the coffee part. I just happened to have the perfect plaid designer paper...  I also dry embossed the middle strip and the Tim Holtz canvas/burlap in the other side is a scrap. I thought they gave a Fall/Autumn feel.. I added some twine and a button.

Sorry you had a crappy day - Catch the bug - Bugaboo Free Friday

Friday September 8, 2017

It's Free Friday at Bugaboo and you can see the design team inspiration using the FF image at Catch the bug.

The Free Friday image is called "Crap set"  This isn't the usual type of card I would make... but I did..
I thought since who ever was having a crappy day they needed a word of encouragement so I added the My Favorite Things "life is tough".. The YOU is Simon Says along with the flowers. I colored the Bugaboo image with copics and added Spectrum to the fly wings.. thought it would be tacky to add it to the pile of crap..LOL
I used Stampin Up ink for the flowers/leaves and added a spot of Nuvo drops to the flower centers.. I just realized I forgot to add to one of the flower centers.. LOL oh well. too late now.. it's about to go live..
I used Ranger ink for the yellowish green background and a ribbon to cover the divided paper area.  The die cut for the crap is from MFT..

Put on something warm today - Smile - Aud Sentiments #188

Thursday September 7-18, 2017

Wow September already.. Why do the months just seem to be speeding by??? I don't think I like it but what can you do..
It will be cold soon and I am not ready for that either.

Well on to my posting..

It's challenge time at Aud Sentiments #188. The challenge for these two weeks is ANYTHING GOES + SENTIMENT

We are being sponsored by Ike's Art

This is my card and I am using the image Kat 1...  I was looking for a sentiment and when I saw his /her big smile I knew just the stamp to use.  I don't know the company for the sentiment. It's not on the wood block, but it is perfect for this image.
I used Hero Art cat paw print and Simon Says heart stamp for the background. I colored the image with Copics and then used My Favorite Things stitched arch die. I added Nuvo glossy drops to his/her teeth and eyes.
Fun funny image. I like the way the card came out.

Dear Friend - Inspiration Destination #136

Wednesday September 6, 2017
oops.. it's challenge #133 not 136  our vacation threw me off
Today we have another challenge at
Inspiration Destination #133
For this two week challenge it's not Anything goes... We have a recipe for you to follow..
Recipe: flowers, die cuts, ribbon, pearls or buttons..  that's it.. easy peasy

Our sponsor Aurora Wings

So this is my card using Wisteria Sprite.. I colored her with colored pencils.. ALL of it is with pencils. no copics.. which is great since the face is pencils. I tried a few different pencils and got a hot mess but because I did it softly I was able to erase the hot mess and ended up with this.. so if you have that issue and you colored softly just erase it and it should look great... LOL. happy outcome for sure. I then used my Lil inker stitched die and cut it out. I used Paper Trey Ink sentiment to the bottom corner. I took some purple card stock and embossed with large dots folder. I added the stamped image to the embossed piece and tried a binding ribbon off to the side. I added some Nuvo drops to look like pearls and called it done.  I am really pat-n myself on the back with the pencil coloring.. LOL.. Well I hope you play along and if you need some inspiration head over to Inspiration Destination and get inspired.. The DT is amazing.

Live Laugh Love - Catch the bug ABC

Monday August 28, 2017

Well today being Monday and at Catch the bug that means Anything But a Card.. ABC

So few months back I made a plaque which I have on  the coffee table ... It was time to make another plaque

So I cut a piece of watercolor paper 5X7 and spritzed with Dylusion sprays and water then dried it. I then I took some texture paste and added some stencil paste areas.. I can see I need to figure out better placement but I am learning.. I know next time... I then used some Art Anthology sand black paste and another stencil. I used a couple different stamps and stamped in different areas around the plaque. I used some Distressed crayon in black and went around the edges but it was too dark so I then went over the area with Lumiere paint.  I die cut the Live Laugh Love butterfly trio with Simon Says stitched circle die. I also cut a chip board circle for each image. I colored the images with copics and used Ranger inks to fill in around the image. I took Lumiere paint and dabbed it on the circle. I adhered the images to the chip board and added to the plaque. I then adhered the plaque to a piece of chipboard to give it strength. Right now I have it on my bakers rack so we can see it during meal time.

Dare to dream - Catch the bug Free Friday

Friday August 18, 2017

Welcome to another Free Friday at Catch the bug  where you can see what the Design team created with this FF image, and the image from Bugaboo is called Decon school sign it.. you can find it in the store.

I dug out my Amy Tangerine designer paper because I knew it had the numbers print in it.  This is perfect for school theme. I wasn't sure what sentiment I wanted so I decided on these from Tech. Tues.  I like the positivity it gives and if this is given to a child it's perfect or for a teacher.
I used Taylored Expressions postage die. I colored the image with Copics.  This card was so simple to make and I sure hope you find time to pick this free image up.

<< YOU ARE AWESOME>>

Sunday August 13, 2017

Ok this is the last card I made using the stamp block, ink, water technique by Jennifer McGuire.. I used a smaller block.
Well that left a big area of nothing.. So I took my Simon Says stripe stamp and stamped in black and cut in small strips. I added them to the card. I added the Tech. Tuesday sentiment and some Nuvo drops.. I mounted it on a piece to teal card stock and attached to a white card base.
My hubby didn't like the stripes but the more I look at it I do. I don't know what else I could of done. I didn't want to cut the image down so this was option I came up with.. What would you have done?

a perfect day - Paper Play Sketches

Wednesday August 9, 2017

Well we went on our vacation.. We went to Montana and spent time with our daughter.. It was a wonderful drive over / back.. We took the two little four legged kids and they were so good. They traveled great and had fun with my daughters little dog. (she also has big ones but they stayed away from them- they are kept outside in a dog area just for them)
Weather was great and Montana is great.  We live in the country in Washington State and Montana reminds me of home.. It was a nice time.. Long drive but we just took our time both ways.

Well welcome to another challenge at Paper Play Sketches..

This is the color challenge for you to follow

These are some of my favorite colors..
So this card came together really easily.

I used a scrap of Quick Quote green panel wood for the background. This scrap was from a project I made but not all the pieces were there so tore it apart and kept the wood grain panel. I used Stampin up dies and cut the flowers also from  Stampin up papers. The leaves are from scraps I had laying around in my scrap box. I added the metal frame with brads on the ends and added the sentiment.  On the flower centers I added Nuvo drops.

Ok lets see what you came up using these colors..

Sing your own Song

Tuesday August 8, 2017

So in between making "Thanks" cards I was itching to do a technique I saw Jennifer McGuire do a few months back..

So I took water color paper and my stamping blocks. I used Ranger ink cubes and squished down some colors on the stamping block. I then took my spraying water container and spritzed the block/inks. I then quickly turned it down onto the water color paper. I laid a heavy object on top and let it be for 5-10 min.  When I removed it and it dried this is what I was left with..
Oh my I love it.. I wanted to add a sentiment but didn't want to cover the inking.. Oh what to do. So dug through some sentiments and chose this one. I added a few Nuvo drops and layered the card on black then yellow.  Oh I have to do more.. I did do three in all and will be posting in the next few days or when I get time to make them into cards. If you have not tried this technique.. You need to. If it doesn't work there is always other side of the paper to create something else. LOL. I know cause I have done that a lot.

Being unique is better than being perfect

Wednesday July 5, 2017

Hope you all in the USA had a great safe 4th of July.
We don't do anything on the 4th of July. Living in the country and logging community there are all sorts of fireworks and illegal ones for sure.. So we just calm the 4 legged kids and tough it out. Wouldn't bother me if the stopped it and only had the fireworks at controlled areas.
So playing I was making a background and thought looks like Halloween colors... so
I don't really do Halloween but love the colors. Well at least what I think are the colors of Halloween..

I chose a stamp set from Simon Says that has different size circles. I took out various inks and just stamped all over the card with different size circles and then took a outline only circle and did the little gold rings. I then stamped Tim Holtz crazy birds and the broom, hat and pumpkin and embossed in black. I colored them with Zig markers and used Spectrum Noir glitter pen on the eyes. I layered them on the card and stamped the sentiment from Tech. Tues.

Believe - I can do all things through Christ

Monday July 1, 2017

Well I have so many supplies and I have been wanting to do a mixed media type art piece and I love those kind of pieces.. So I said screw it.... I'm heading in. I can either love it or round file it... WELL I LOVE IT...
I started with a piece of 4.5 X 6 water color paper.. I sprayed three Dylusions sprays on it and spritzed with water and dried the piece.  I took a stamp that had writing on it and stamped it a couple places with out re-inking. I had a dandelion stamp I did the same. I then took Texture paste and a square stencil and added the paste in a few places.(I kind a like the bleed through vs. the white)  I then took a round stencil and some Art Anthology black texture paste that has grit in it, like a sand and did the circles in a few places.  I went through my chip board and found the piece with an arrow on it and a couple flowers. I colored them with Lumiere paint then went around the edges with some distressed crayons. I found this "I can do all things through Christ" from Paper Trey Ink stamped it on some cream card stock and cut out with a oval die cut. I took some gold Lumiere paint and added it over the sentiment. I die cut Simon Says Believe three times and layered them. Before I added anything I went around the edge of the piece with Distressed crayon in black and smeared it around.  I then added all of the pieces to the background base. I like that the arrow chipboard piece and Believe points down to the scripture.. I added a nice piece of white card stock behind the piece (since the backside was messy looking) it's on my coffee table so I can look at it daily. I hope it inspires me to create more.. I'd love to do a canvas piece. Plus I love the Believe - I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
