Mid-month reminder for our Month long challenge over at

Since I was making my pages and did January and all the rest of the year for 2020.. I thought instead of the pages just being pretty papers as all the rest are.. I'd add stamps/dies to this May page.. I will probably do some of the other months too. But since I needed this for this challenge I picked May.. I used an old die I have and gray scrap of dp.. and did the foliage piece. I then looked at my Reverse Confetti stamps and I had some strips that came out of a die and stamped some encouraging words. I then went around the edges with Ranger ink. I added them to the page. The divider is designer paper from Teresa Collins and the page is made using Stampin up tab die. The Jan-Dec. is an old 15 yrs. + stamp set that is kinda distressed font.  Like I said for the Nov. 1st. inspiration .. this journal is for me and to keep track of my design team cards I make and when they need to be posted and what sponsor and all.. It's just info to keep me on track that I write in.

I guess this was a good time as any to get my 2020 card journal made up.. this is what I use for just my cards. I am on quite a few design teams so I need to keep track of my cards on what team and sponsor and all. So I created a calendar month that I write the DT/# and then I have a Sun-Sat section where I write in each date the DT/#/sponsor/image... This has worked for me for years so I stay with it. Even though I am the only one to see this I want it to look nice. I want the dividers to inspire me and just bring pleasure. So I use a Stampin up tab die. I found this awesome acrylic sheet that had pretty leaves and words so I used Taylored Expressions silhouette die and die cut a couple flowers. I ran it through the zyron so that the adhesive wouldn't show on the other side since it's clear acrylic. I then used a double sided scrap of QQ paper and stamped the Tech. Tues. sentiment and used Stampin up Stitch die to cut out and using the zyron added this to the page. I have this monthly stamp set I got over 15 yrs. ago with Jan - Dec. I am not that fond of the messy look of the stamp font but hay it's for me and it's easier than typing it out and printing it out.. So I stamped them and added to each divider.. I thought the "thankful" would be a great way to start the year 2020..

Hello and welcome to my blog..

 Today at Catch the bug

it's Anything But a Card.. also known at ABC..

Well I have been working on my journal for 2019 where I made up and had printed off monthly calendars and space to write and then pages of dates so I could keep track of the 11 design teams I am on.. LOL.. I did make some monthly tab pages already.. So now it's time for some decorative pages to start each month. Hence the ABC

 

 

I am using the image called Flower Butterfly Vase from Bugaboo. I colored the image with copics. I went over the flowers and butterflies with Spectrum Noir sparkle pen. I then went through my larger decorate card stock from Club scrap and found the perfect piece that already has the leaves and refresh, renew, revive on it... So I adhered the Bugaboo image to it and used some Washi tape to just give more interest. I used my journal punch for the holes.. Now it's ready for some month in 2019.. I hope to get more started..

Monday at Catch the bug is Anything But a Card

This is my Journal Inspiration page.. Since it's so late into the year I just may have to bring this one over to 2017 journal so I an enjoy it more..  I used the image called Girl teddy hug . . I again found a quote that I liked and then found the image that I thought was so cute and printed it out. I colored the image with copics and then used a white gel pen to give some dots to the bow and dress.  I did the colorless blender liquid and terry towel to give he bear some texture.. I added the colored image to a scrap of quick quote designer paper and then laminated the whole piece and punch my holes.

I am a Guest Designer over at Crafty Boots Challenges where the challenge is Anything But A Card..

I was excited to be asked to be a guest designer and of course I loved that it's Anything But A Card.. I like those types of challenges. Thank you Crafty Boots for having me.

This is my Anything But A Card project. I needed another journal page for October so this was my chance to make one. When I have my journal I have the month tabs and then the calendar and more pages.. Well right on top of the month tab is where this goes. So when I go to my journal I see the inspiration - fun pages.
I finally used those Tim Holtz crazy birds. I have had them for awhile but seem to never have time to use them. I took my chance this time.  I used water color paper and laid down some inks and spritzed with water then I laid the water color paper in the inks. I dried the paper then laid it gently down in spots till I got the bright colorful background I wanted. I love doing this.. (I also love there are two sides of the paper.. the first one was a muddy mess) After I got what I wanted I dried it. I then die cut the stamped birds and colored them in copics. I was then thinking what sentiment do I want. I looked in my inspirational book (one I write in) and didn't see anything. So went to my stamps and found this sentiment from Verve Stamps. Well it was too small so I went to the computer and printed it out and then cut each word out.  I then added My Favorite Things music notes.  I layered it on some black card stock (to hide the muddy mess on the other side) and laminated the page with my Zyron. I have a hole punch that fits the binders I have so punched it and added to a journal.  I am loving this page and the way it came out.

We are on vacation at Catch the bug from Aug. 6-19  so we have no challenges or new releases. But I wanted to post this card anyhow even though it's not over at Catch the bug.

 

It's Monday and that means at Catch the bug it's ABC - Anything But a Card day

It's time for another ABC /anything but a card.. And if you have been following me you know that means a Journal Inspiration page... This one really hits home with me. I have ALWAYS been a heavy person (or as my grandmother would say I sure am healthy..little did she know by todays standards) anyhow I have body issues and do not like my body issues.. I have tried so many diets over the last 60 plus years..I'm sure you know how it goes.. you loose and it comes right back on.  I have a little note at work on my computer that says "I need to be thinner love myself"..   For this journal page I found this quote and I keep reading it and know that "being beautiful, feeling lovely and offering feminine allure have absolutely nothing to do with your weight, our age or the shape of our bodies"  I wrote in the speech bubble I (heart) myself!   and I have to keep reminding myself of that. I did use this particular image from bugaboo called Girl speech bubble  as she fit the message.

I added some purple high-lights to her hair.. if I was younger I would do it. but with the grey it wouldn't look too good. It would look like my grandma's when she put the rinse in her hair, it always gave a purple tint.. lol

Monday at Catch the bug is ABC - Anything But a Card day..

It's another Journal inspiration page .. Oh my I am loving these and it's awesome to look at each time I open my journal. I am getting quite a collection and I am adding them to each months page. I find quotes that I have seen on facebook, magazines, books and all sorts of places and when I find the image that I want to use.. not necessarily does it go with the quote but a comforting image.. I type the quote above the image and print out. I added the colored image to a piece of scrap card stock and laminate the whole image and punch the holes.  I gave texture to the dog by adding a little colorless blender liquid to a small scrap of terry towel and dab over the colored dog. I love the look it gives. The image I used is called Girl puppy love

Aud Sentiments #156  Today we are our own sponsor.. The theme is ANYTHING GOES / + SENTIMENT

I love it when we sponsor ourselves.. On these days I will be using my rubber/acrylic stamps.. I just used this stamp for another challenge last week and because I love it and the sentiment I wanted to use I used it again..  and I decided to make a Journal inspiration page for my 2016 journal..  I used some watercolor paper and black embossed the face then I took three different color of ranger inks and smooched them on my craft sheet and spritzed with water and laid my paper in the mess.. dried it and did it again - dried it and did again till I got the effect I wanted. I then stamped the sentiment in black. I layered it on some black - pink and then laminated the whole piece and punched holes.  I hope you enjoy and I hope you find time to play along at Aud Sentiments.. you have two weeks to enter our challenges..

Aud Sentiments #155  Our theme is ANYTHING GOES + SENTIMENT

Again we are our own sponsor and so I chose to do another Journal page for my 2016 Journal.

I am using the Eureka stamp .. I have so many Eureka wooden stamps and since I had this fun sentiment from Verse rubber stamps I thought this was perfect and it reminds me of my best friend Karen. She (we love green) so I colored her in the green dress and since we couldn't both be wearing green I chose purple, orange and green for my outfit.. those are some of my other favorite colors..

I layered it on some purple card stock and scrap of green then laminated the whole piece and punched my journal holes.. I hope you find time to play along. You have two weeks and it's anything goes plus a sentiment.

It's Monday so at Catch the bug it's ABC - Anything But a Card

I have been making Journal Inspiration pages for my 2016 Journal.. I love seeing the inspiration quotes that I have collected and to see the fun image and just bring a piece of mind and smile.
I hope you enjoy seeing my journal pages. I will be making more in the future and sharing them on my blog. This journal page image is
Kidz girl ball dog  I colored it with copics then adhered it to the orange card stock to hide the bleed of the copics and to give it added color. I laminated the whole piece and punched the holes. The quote was added by typing it above the image.

Challenges:
As you like it - non card project /why favorite (craft journal page are a favorite to make and having inspirational messages that I can see for that whole month and get the message seed planted in my head. Making me a better person)
