Thinking of you - Inspiration Destination #140

Wednesday December 13-26, 2017

It's time for another challenge at
Inspiration Destination #140..
Again it's ANYTHING GOES

we will be on vacation for a couple weeks. can't wait to see you in 2018 at Inspiration Destination

Ok it's almost Christmas and I needed a break from Christmas cards.. I wanted to play again with my Ken Oliver Powder paints.. So this time I tried a different approach.. I added very little powder to the upper right corner and then spritzed with water (with out blowing it off- LOL) and held the paper so it ran.  and added a little more and more till I got this beautiful piece. I then took some Kuretake gold paint and watered it down and flicked it over the piece.. OH MY this is so pretty..
I took my Simon Says flowers and white embossed them then used my Zig markers and water colored them. I die cut them out and laid out the flowers/leaves. I stamped the Simon Says sentiment and used My Favorite Things banner die.  This is so pretty. Sure hope it comes across ok on the computer.

Ok time to see my Christmas cards are and do I need to get more out..

You're the apple of my eye - Paper Play Sketches #55

Wednesday November 8, 2017

Welcome to another sketch at
It saddens me that this is our last challenge at PPS.. This blog challenge is being closed down. So this is your last week to play along.

This is the sketch. You can turn the sketch or use as is.  If you need ideas check out the design teams cards

This card was so much fun to make. I used Stampin up designer papers and Taylored Expressions stamp set. The tab die is Stampin up and the stitched rectangles die is from My Favorite Things. I colored the apple with copics and went over the apple with glossy accents. I added floss to the button and burlap scrap behind it. I really love how this came out. I was concerned with the large back dots but I think it was needed since the other colors are so light.

Thinking of you - Inspiration Destination #137

Wednesday November 1-14, 2017

Wow it's November already.. It's been a year today since I have been home and retired.. It's been an awesome great year.. I am so glad to be retired and being able to be home with my hubby and four legged kids.. Awesome year.

So today it's time for another challenge at
Inspiration Destination #137 - ANYTHING GOES

This is the card I made. I took my Ken Oliver powder paints  and sprinkled it on water color paper spritzed on the water and used a brush to move it around and spritzed with more water and kept working it till I got what I liked.  Still not sure I like so then plan "B".. I die cut the white paper from Lil Inker die. I cut it twice to layer it.. I laid it over the water color piece and then laid it on to the card base. I used Stampin Up flower stamp and dies to create the flower. The leaves are from a box of leaves I die/punched a long time ago.. I layered them on some Gold cording from Stampin Up. I used My Favorite Things stitch oval and die cut the sentiment which is from Simon Says. The ink is Stampin Up Fig.. I added some Nuvo drops. It's done and I do like the background now.. LOL

Well few months back I bought this set from My Favorite Things and have been itching to use it..  and now was the perfect time.
I found this awesome DP?? and I cut it a little shorter and the white tag looking place was empty so I stamped the little flowers/leaves from Simon Says in there. The green strip I also stamped some leaves. hello sweet - Paper Play Sketches

Wednesday October 4, 2017

It's time for another challenge at Paper Play Sketches
and we have a color challenge for you this week.

This is the awesome color challenge.. Great colors (I think)

I have this stamp set from Concord and 9th and been waiting to use it.. Summer got away from me on using it so thought ok we still eat fruit in the fall.. So this is my card.  I used water color paper and Ranger inks, color burst ink and created the background. I dried it and spritzed water on it to get this splatter effect. Ok that was the red color.. I then used the  larger stamps to create the orange, the smaller stamp to create the lemon and line.  I had some scraps of black and white stripes and so added that so there was some contrast. I then die cut the sentiment also from the stamp set three times and added it along with some sequins.  I love the bold colors.  I hope you can play along and if you need inspiration check out the design teams creations.

You're the best cuddle buddy - Catch the bug

Thursday September 28, 2017

Welcome to Thursday and at Catch the bug
it's OBG day... Oldie But Goode

So this is my OBG card. I used AKV Boy sit dog image.. You can find this image in the Bugaboo store. Just click on my link

I first cut the image piece to the size I wanted and then masked off his legs and all above the edge up.. I used My Favorite Things brick stencil (oh I love this stencil- I've used it a lot) and used three different color Ranger distress inks and created my brick wall. I then colored the image in with copics. I tried to give the dog a textured curly fluffy look.  I distress the edges with some Quick Quote chalk inks. I then mounted the piece on a piece of Basic Gray designer paper. I too a strip I cut off of the BG paper and stamped the My Favorite Things sentiment and adhered it under the image.. I don't know if the dog is saying the boy is the best cuddle buddy or if the little boy is saying the dog is the best cuddle buddy.. I think with my two dogs it's a mutual thought..

You are my HERO - Sunny Day Crafting #54

Wednesday September 27, 2017

Welcome back to another challenge at Sunny Day Crafting #54
"M" is for MALE

I am on the Yellow team so it's my turn to give you some eye candy.. LOL Inspire you.

This is my inspiration for you.. I wanted to make a MALE card using colors and sentiment. I found some scraps from Tim Holtz designer paper pad.. So using My Favorite Things stitched squares I cut out a few. I then thought hum what should I do for the background.. So took Ranger distress inks and inked up the card stock and added some water drops. Then I laid out the squares so they were eye pleasing to me and adhered them. I stamped the Simon Says coffee cup on some more designer paper (isn't it beautiful??) and fussy cut it out. Phew. sure glad it was easy. I'm so use to dies I get spoiled. I added copic pen for the coffee part and glossy accents. I added this to the card and stamped and embossed in black the Simon Says sentiment.
I completed the card with some brown sequins and added some Nuvo drops to the center of each.. I think it's a great male masculine card for the hero in your life..  "M" is for male

You brighten my day

Thursday September 21, 2017

Wow this is day 7 of the Fall Coffee Lovers blog hop..
It's been fun creating my cards. Few I have loved and few not so much.. Maybe I hadn't had enough coffee that day when I created.. Any how this is another day and another card.

This is my card. I took some dark gray card stock and dry embossed it. I then took some tanish card stock and my Stampin up stamps and dies and cut out the to go coffee cup and lid. I used Ranger inks to give some shading.
I found this awesome scrap dotted card stock so cut it out to fit as the cozy. I used Simon Says sentiment that has nothing to do with coffee but for my card it does. I added some of those left over Simons Says leaves I painted with Mission paints and touched up with Ranger. It needed something more so added the twine and more leaves. I won some gray bling dots from Close to my heart.. Aren't they pretty? and added them to the card.

Happy mail - Aud Sentiments #189

Thursday September 21 - October 2, 2017

Well we are really getting into some fall now. Grandkids / Great Grandkids are in school and getting all things figured out.. Hope you are enjoying a quiet house now and can get some crafting done... LOL  Well on to the challenge..

We have another two week challenge at
Aud Sentiments #189.. Our theme is

2 word sentiment.. ONLY TWO WORDS..   and make sure you sentiment is where we can see it..

So this is my two (2) word card.. happy mail... I tell you this is the second card.. I stamped this card out and had it ready to layer and so I turned the card over and applied adhesive.. WELL when I turned it over my ink smeared.. it was a red hot mess.. I had to remake it..

I used Simon says stamps. I at first used Ranger ink.. WHICH STAYS WET LONGER!!!! so this card is with Stampin up ink. I then colored the envelopes with copics and added glossy accents to the hearts.

I thought it came out cute. I've had this stamp set for quite some time.. it came in one of the Simon month kit but didn't know what to do with it so I wanted to try using it now..  I laid out the envelopes till I got a nice display and stamped them so they looked like they were stacked. I added the hearts in various places.. It for sure is happy mail.

Hope you find time to play along and can head over to Aud Sentiments to see the DT creations.

Hello Love - Pause Dream Enjoy Challenge #191

Wednesday September 20, 2017

Well this is one of the other Design Teams I joined..
Again it's a weekly challenge..
We have two teams. I am on the ORANGE team.

Each week we have a new theme.
The theme for this week is ANIMALS

This is a piece I water colored with my Mission water color paints. It is a pre stamped piece I got on one of my Simon Says monthly kit. I've wanted to paint it for awhile now but wasn't sure with what. Well the Mission paints are kinda new so this was the perfect shot.. I added Spectrum Noir glitter pen to the water.. I am pleased with how it came out. I had to google Flamingos on their beak to see what they look like.  The only flamingos you see in Washington State are the plastic ones in some peoples yards that are faded.. LOL.  I am happy with this card. I hope I inspired you to play along.  Any animal stamp, I know you have one..

Kiss kiss, I love you - Sunny day crafting #52

Wednesday September 13, 2017

Well this is one of the other teams I joined..
Sunny Day Crafting
Sunny Day Crafting is an alphabet challenge.. So each week a different letter of the alphabet and the letter will go with an image..
Sunny Day Crafting #52  "K"  is for KITE

I am on the Yellow team so every other week I will post. But there will ALWAYS be weekly postings at Sunny Day Crafting.. Hope you play along.

This is my card for the letter "K" is for KITE..
I found this sun and kite from a Simon Says stamp set. I painted them with Mission water colors. The pandas are from Mama Elephant and the grass dies are Lawn Fawn. I used Spectrum Noir on the sun and kite. I used my cloud template to create the sky clouds.
This was a fun card but I think I have one of the bears too high on the grass. Funny you don't really see things till you get it on your post..
I hope you can play along and have a kite stamp or die or free hand make one. You all are so crafty and creative. I love see you works. They are very inspiring to me.  Hugs

A friend is someone who knows - a tag for Raelene

Sunday August 20, 2017

My daughter showed me a tag she liked.  I think she found it on Facebook.. I don't know who created the beautiful tag she showed me.. I wish I did so if it's one of you that frequent my blog.. please let me know..
I pretty much followed the colors, sentiment, leaves and flowers.. I did use different flowers even though I had the Simon says stamps she used but her tag must of been larger cause it would of been to crowded on this tag. I just happened to have the same sentiment but hers was smaller. I did add Nuvo drops to the card and some dots from SS.. I colored the background with Ranger inks. I colored the flowers with Zig markers. I added ribbon and called it done.
(I added Ranger micro distress glaze paste over the inked background so it wouldn't show finger prints when touched.. should I add before I stamped the leaves or after???? I added before and was hard to get the leaves darker.)

I love this tag and it's off to my daughter Raelene..

View of the ribbons  its variegated and love the colors

Sending wags your way - Paper Play Sketches

Wednesday August 16, 2017

So we are half way through August.. where is this month going?? Least the weather is still nice..  and now it's time for another challenge at

This is the sketch for you to follow

So this sketch took me awhile to figure what I wanted to do...
I knew I had a small area to add either a sentiment or an image.. So digging through my stamps I found this cute My Favorite Things dog and the sentiment I chose from the same set fit perfect on my Stampin up scallop punch. The three little paw prints are from Art Impressions.  The teal paper is a scrap of Quick Quote DP. I also distressed the edges with some Quick Quote chalk inks.  I added a little ribbon to the top of the dog piece so it just had a little more interest. Oh and the images are colored with copics.

I sure hope you play along and let's see what you come up with..
