It's mid month reminder time at Creative with Stamps..
The theme is Mittens..
Note: CWS Challenges do not have many "Guidelines", but please read and follow the few we do have to be eligible to win.
This is my reminder card.. If you read about my January 1st. card you know I don't have a mitten stamp and so I drew a mitten and cut it out and traced it on Bristol paper and turned it over to create the other hand. I used Zig markes and painted the mittens. I used Simon Says stamps and embossing powder and created the fun texture to the mittens. I stamped the SS sentiment on We R memory keepers scrap and used Stampin up die. I then added this to a piece of scrap paper. I don't know who the background is by. I then used a copic and colored the twine and added this to the mittens.. I don't know about you but when I was growing up this is the way our mittens were. You would put your mittens on and then your winter coat and even if you took your mittens off they were saved by the cord that connected it to the other one.. I know my mom would add a safety pin inside my coat in the collar area and ran the cord through the pin so the mittens wouldn't be lost if I took my coat off.. The pin held them there even though they would have to go all the way through the coat sleeve.. I guess extra care that they wouldn't be lost. I don't think they do that now.. but honestly don't know..

ReplyDeleteBillie so glad your shared your DT card on Double Trouble. That background paper is beautiful, it almost appeared as an embossed and sponging...and great job on your mittens. Loved your story on the mittens, my mom would do the same thing with the pin. My kids, they often lost their mittens especially the boys. Thanks again for sharing.
