Welcome to Paper Pretties Wednesday challenge #242
Today's challenge is NEW TECHNIQUE
My technique: I took some old x-ray film and made my cloud template, I then use the sponge applicator and ranger ink and start at the top place the template, from the film to the card stock swipe lightly upwards to just off the film. Move the film over and do again and again to get the effect you want. Then I just cut out the piece I needed. I also can add clouds to a card where the image is already on it because you can see the image through the film and you wont get cloud ink on the image. I love the effect. Hope you give it a try. I just went to my x-ray doctors building and asked for any old x-rays they wish to get rid of. Then took them home put them in my bathtub and added water and bleach and it removes the x-ray film. Drew my design and cut it out and labeled it. The film is very sturdy and will last forever.
This is my completed card. Isn't he /she cute?..

A great snowy scene card, perfect for this time of year! Thanks for joining us at Cupcake, Shelly x
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful.....I love the idea of using old xray film.....never never. I have made clouds like yours after seeing another tutorial, but my clouds don't look as good as hers or yours. I do exactly what yal said. Making them darker didn't really help either. What color copics did you use?
ReplyDeleteI saw it on MIM. The details to the clouds is incredible.Very nice card.
ReplyDeleteAdorable! Your clouds are perfect! Never thought about using some type of plastic to make a template and what a fab idea to use xray film! Thanks for sharing your super cute card with us at Clear It Out!
