Another Merry Christmas card

 I was looking through a paper pad and saw this die cut paper from a prior project and though why don't I use it to make a little scene. I seem to be doing that a lot.. thanks to the hoarder in me I save my scraps.. which turn out not to be scraps when I can use them to make a frame for my card scene.  So I cut it down to fit the card front as a frame, added the trees to the background and added the little  fawn image from Paper makeover standing in some snow and finding a patch of grass with the flower. It made a nice scene and thought I would turn it into a Christmas card with the sentiment. I added a butterfly just to give it a little added touch. I know butterflies aren't around much in the winter time but could be for the warmer weather countries hay even California could have butterflies. Know my DNL in Vegas it's warm and sure there are butterflies somewhere there.

Free Friday at Catch the bug we have Dotty - cookies

 

so did you in the states have a nice Thanksgiving?? full of pumpkin pie and all the goodies before the pie.. We did .. (went to my son and daughter in law's for a wonderful day full of fun)..  well today may be just the day for you.. Cookies.. Dotty cookie lady pick up your free image..

 

I had in mind when I made this card that it would be a perfect image for those of you who bring cookies to others during the holiday's. That I why I made the tag and put from our house to yours. Of course her cookies are snickerdoodles... yummm love them I used my little glitter brown pen and made little dots for the cinnamon that's on the cookies. I used washi tape along the sides of the designer paper and su cording to give some texture and also to hang the tag.  I am loving the blue and browns together.

I used the image Caroling Cooper   I have to tell you I had one heck of a time getting this card to look right and the snow.. I used the simon says stitching hills and added some ink and stickles to give the snow / hills look. The tree was just an added thought and not sure I like it but it's there and I did not want to start over.. I do like the coloring on Cooper. He looks like he's having a great time singing to the top of his lungs.

Catch the bug New Release Winter Snowman

 

As much as I like snowmen and the look of snow I am not ready for it to come. I do like the different blues and the tree that stands out against it.  I used a negative die cut (left over from the center part being used on another project) and used pop dots and layered the image behind it to give a depth look. I added some of my clouds using my film cloud template I made. added the sentiment to the top corner and layered it onto some Kraft paper card base. added some glittered punched out snowflakes and sequins. It's a happy card for sure.

Yesterday was my birthday and it was a nice day. I had to work and at my age I should be retired.. BUT I guess that will come later. At least I'm still having birthdays... LOL

 

Free Friday at Catch the bug Stocking Santa

 

I made my card using the negative part of the paper. I have been doing this more and more. I just cant stand throwing away paper and so I used it. The card base is kraft, I used washi tape above and below and I like the contrast against the dark teal. I added a lot of glitter to the ornament. I colored it teal first then added a layer of glitter I like the way the teal comes through and the depth it has. I used the Simon says banner and sentiment for my card. I used various snowflakes and a little stickles in the center of a couple of them. Fun fun card. I hope you find time to get over to Bugaboo to get this fun image.

I made my card using the image Patches and the sentiment is from Paper Pretties also.  I love his little guys look. I had a left over pumpkin I made awhile back and couldn't use, so I saved it and so glad I did. It gives a nice touch.  I loved coloring this image. Fun.. I know the sentiment does not say thanksgiving but the card screams Thanksgiving.. This will go to my brother and sister in law..

Free Friday at Catch the bug Christmas mouse on horse

Now I remember I had a rocking horse when I was a child. I loved the fun I had on it. My kids when they were younger had one also but it was the kind with the spring. Mine was all wood.  Times change but the fun still is the same.

I hope you find time to grab this fun image while she is free. 

I made the banner above the image and die cut the letters. I colored the banner topping but it kind a blends with the background paper. Added the little bows to the end and added the embossed Christmas to the bottom and the little enamel dots on each side.  I love the colors and the smile this card brings.

Wednesday and another challenge at Paper Pretties #336 - "Masculine"

 

I used a digi called Pocket friend  for my card. I chose to use some papers and chip board pieces from Quick quote that I had left over from some scrapbook pages I did. I also used a die from Tim Holtz of the houses. There are more then three but only needed three.. I also put a  die cut left over piece from an alphabet set I did.. It was just a small left over piece that I cut apart so put it behind him just to give some extra depth and bring the red out more. I am liking this card and think it looks pretty masculine.. what ja think?  I hope you find time to play along and add your masculine card to Paper Pretties blog.

Oh man this posting is giving me a headache.. I can not get things to line up.. forgive me.

 

Fitztown has a challenge going on which is #61  Glitz/Glamor using Cameo 13

 

This is my card for the Glitz / Glamor .. I am not much for either but I had a great time making this card. I hope it comes across as pretty as it actually is.  I used the image called Cameo 13. you can find her here.  She is so pretty and looks like she could be quite glitzy I added a hair pin or lapel pin because of the feathers and gems in her hair (beads are from an old strung beaded bracelet that was on an elastic cording that gave away. ) Now the pin can be removed and used on a nice coat lapel. Added the stickled hearts to give a little more glitz / glamor.. I am loving this card.  I hope you play along and use a digi and make your glitz/glamor card.

New Saturday challenge at Catch the bug - FOOD  

I chose to use the image Christmas Cupcake Ornament

 

I picked out the background paper first and chose the ornament colors from there. I love this fun card. I added glitter to the frosting to give it more of an interest look. I used the wink of stella glitter brush on the ornaments but not sure it's coming across too good in the photo. Added this lovely lime green ribbon and the Merry Christmas banner to finish it off. Fun cute snowman and I should of put a nice cup of coco by him... he is a marshmallow after all.. LOL   But I kept this card pretty simple. I had this designer paper (?) don't know who it's by.. but loved the snow falling down so it made for a nice scene.

Aud Sentiments #119 challenge "Sentiment on the tag"

 

Our sponsor for this two week challenge is Rick St Dennis   I chose to use the image Betsy Bobbins.

I took two photos of my card. The first one is face on and the second card is sideways so you could see the clear embossing I did over the embossing folder design. It looks so cool. It really gives a great look with out being over powering.  I ruff cut the image of Betsy Bobbins which gave me a lot of open space. I felt it needed something more than the tag and no matter what way I put the tag it just did not look right. Hence the poinsettia which I love this die from My Favorite Things.. It's Wednesday so that means another challenge at Paper Pretties #335 "Thank You"

 

I was going through my paper pads and found this flower paper with the center die cut already done so I just added the burgundy behind it and then added the image up on foam tape which gave it an awesome depth layered look. I added some fun flowers and had the hubby punching out my leaves while we visited.. He did a good job huh.. He is so helpful and it's so nice that he loves to help me.

I added some white gel pen dots to the dress and ribbon. Looks cool huh. Well I think so..  I used the image Give thanks  she's so cute.

Tuesday at Catch the bug is New Release day (NR) today we have Kid winter girl

 

She is so cute and so easy to color. I just chose her fun colors from the paper I used. I added the ribbon coming off the edge and the presents are pre made stickers. I didn't have room for the sentiment so added it going up and down. I like the look. Makes you move the card around to look at it.  Check out the new releases at Bugaboo store

I have this great sentiment from Simon Says and thought this image called Fae 19 by Fitztown  you can find her here  would be perfect. She looks like she is in love and thinking this sentiment for the perfect person in her life. I had a great fun time coloring her. I am loving the colors and the paper. I added a little orange ribbon behind to give a little eye catching to the card. One of my favorites.. for now.
