Unscripted sketches #208 challenge.  I hope your play along and take a look at the other design team projects to get an idea. That's what I love about these sketch challenges is it's the same sketch for everyone but every one is different. Love this paper craft.

 

 This is the card I made using the sketch. I sort of let the bottom paper work for me with the pattern. I know it's not exactly like the sketch but its close.  I like the masculine look to it..

 Friday at Catch the bug is Free Friday digi. Today we have CUTE BEE FLOWER

I love the large flower it's holding. Kind of reminds me of "bugs life" love that movie.

I used Washi tape for the background giving it a bee look.. I am loving Washi tape. I used the su ornament punch and embossed the words on it, hid the top of the ornament under the other die. Kind of gives me a bee butt look. What ya think?

This is the last card I made for ladies retreat. There are four cards posted for the retreat. We had a husband and wife speaker at our ladies retreat at Seaside Oregon. I already posted the lady speakers and this is the card I made for the man. At church retreat there is a lot of singing, praying and sermons. I knew that Sandy sang and has a cd out and her husband Jay plays the guitar so this is what I came up with for a man card. I was really pleased how it came out. The stamp set is from Simon Says, music 2 my ears... the ink is su, the die cut music notes  mft, assorted dp scraps, the mesh was from a craft store dollar bin. I love how the card came out and sure hope everyone enjoyed their cards.

I went to a ladies retreat with my church this past weekend to Seaside Oregon. I made a card for both speakers and this is the one I made for the lady speaker. It was a lovely retreat, the weather was off and on rain but gee just to look at the ocean from your hotel room it did not matter. I am so glad we live close to the ocean. It's only about 160 miles from my home to where we went.

this card I used PTI die and stamp set, and viva pearl pen. Ink SU. I love this card paper is bazzill.

Again a church retreat card. This is the card I made for my best friend and our 5th year of going to the church retreat. Plus she is a neighbor, past co worker, crafter and dear dear friend. We have so much fun together. Our favorite colors are green and we love butterflies. I made this card for her.

I used bazzill card stock, washi tape, bg paper for the butterfly, te butterfly dies, ek heart punch, su ink. I love this card.

Wednesday is Paper Pretties #255 new challenge. This week is TRY A NEW FOLD

 

First let me introduce you to a new digi set. This is Dorris. Cute little duck great sentiments. Sure you could use this for quite a few different occasions.

 

This is my try on a new fold card. I saw this card tutorial on Dawn Olchefske twist fold fun card. I loved the idea and with this being the challenge for a new fold card I had to try it. Her directions and video are easy to follow. If I can do it you can too. I did find using a better quality card stock helped. Some crack when you score and fold so be careful. I stamped a tag and put "surprise" across it but forgot to remove it when I took the photo. I used Trio Ladybugs

 

This is the inside of the card. Perfect for some money or a gift card.  I will be making this card again.

Tuesday's at Catch the bug means it's new release day. We have a cutie and perfect Mothers day card, thinking of you, miss you image,  etc.. AKV smell flower  girl. Isn't she cute?

I had all sorts of scraps on my desk and in a couple of containers on my desk so dug through and used the other half of the su die, an extra heart from another project, the reddish punch piece on the left side. I love using scraps. Oh the leaves are from a pile of leaves I cut months and months ago.

This is the card that I did for the sketch. I decided to use some dies and punches for my card. I have this die from MFT that I've been waiting to use and thought OK, what am I going to put in this square and thought OK it doesn't really need to be a square just a focal point of your choice. So I chose to use the umbrella, then stamped this cool sentiment at the bottom. See the heart? well for some reason I got a spot of ink up there and the hearts covered it perfect and added a nice touch to the card. I hate when mistakes happen but love when they turn out and compliment the card too.
So I hope you play along and follow the sketch as close as you can, I showed you how I took the sketch and made it work for me.

April calendar page

I wanted to share a calendar page I made. There is a group of girls, most of them live in Wisconsin but a few of us live in Washington state. We choose a month or two and do what ever we want. This year I chose April and Sept. I then get two wonderful calendars to enjoy all year. I keep one at work and one at home. It's so much fun to enjoy every one's wonderful design for a whole month. This is one of twelve identical pages I made before I sent them to Wisconsin for them to be spiral bound with every one's monthly pages and then two are sent back to me.

I used my cloud template, ranger ink, su paper, pti stamps, su ink and su punch, dcwv dp.

Welcome to Wednesday and a new week for a challenge at Paper Pretties #253 and the theme is BUTTONS!!!..

First before I show you my card, this is the new release for this week. This digi set is called Buttons, how appropriate considering the theme is BUTTONS.. Cute huh?

 

 

This is my card using the digi image and words  Buttercup ... I just had to put him in a scene so I used the tree and sun die from MFT and added buttons to color it up. This would of made a cute mothers day card but I just was not thinking. I still have a hard time making mothers day cards. I lost my mom going on 6 years. It does not get any easier. Same with fathers day, its been 10 yrs. Still hard. But enough on that.. this is my card and I think it would make someone happy.. Hope you get a chance to play along. I cant wait to see what you do. Monday's at Catch the bug are for ABC - anything but a card

So I made a tag using AKV men golf   My BIL and some co workers are loving that spring is here so they can go golfing. Spring brings out so many fun outdoors activities but golfing is not one for me. But I had fun making this card and using the ranger distress ink/spritzed water and laying the tag in the colorful mess to get this background for my tag. I added some ferns just to give some added depth and you see golfers in or by the trees.  LOL.. added some twine and embossed a circle for a large golf ball.  I love the colors.

Hello and welcome to another great sketch from Unscripted Sketches #205

I am loving this sketch and knew instantly what I wanted to do with it. I hope you have fun, you can turn it, make a scrapbook page, framed design. Just try to follow the sketch as best as you can. I love seeing your work.

 I have been wanting to try this faux embossing technique I saw and I am sorry I don't remember who's blog I saw this one But it's taking the same color card stock as the main part of the card and die cutting a repeating shape. Here I used a zig-zag die and then just off set them. Doesn't it look embossed. It sure gives the card a nice texture with out over powering it. I love it and will use this technique again.
I did not want too much going on and keep the image C&S so I stamped the darling dress on script and colored it in. I like how the print shows through the dress, gives it a nice texture too. This was a fun card to make. Not that others aren't but you know what I mean.  I thought this would make a nice friendship/birthday/congratulations card. Guess it all depends what you write inside.

It's Friday.. Yippee I am so glad. I love the weekend an being home and having time to craft and be with my dear hubby and our two precious four legged kids. My dear crafting friend is coming over to play in my craft room. It's always a fun time, make cards, eat, listen to movies, eat, laugh, talk and eat.  Yea we like to eat.

 

Today is free Friday at Catch the bug and today we have AKV EXPECTING.. Aren't they a cute couple. I again let the paper do most of the work. I did not embellish much as I did not want to take away from the paper.

I am glad you stopped by. Today we have a new digi release at Paper Pretties and a new challenge.

first the new digi is DAISY.. cute little fish with great catchy sentiments.

 

 

The theme for this week #251 challenge is FLOWERS.

I again used my favorite flowers (its a punch from SU) and I just take a balled end tool and a foam pad and keep the ball going around and around till it forms a nice bowl look. It's just the perfect size for my cards, add a few greenery and pearls, viva pearl pen, bling to the center and you have a wonderful flower. I used EVERY DAY LILY  she's a clear stamp from Paper Pretties, a few dies and ribbon and it's done. I like her cute little look. Fun image.
